Today is the first day of the meteorological (weather) Winter
and right on cue its battering down snow outside my window with around 3 inches fallen :hee: (it will all melt later)

I really love when that blanket of snow comes and covers all the brown grass and the mouldy leaves.
I went for a nice crisp walk last night and the street lights and the moon reflecting off the snow were so lovely and bright :flutter:

This year the astronomical winter begins on 21 December 2015 and ends on 20 March 2016.

Indeed but we are talking about the weather season Winter that occurs in the 5 miles above our heads and not astronomy that occurs far outside our earths atmosphere
