View Full Version : Tonights trial was a step too far

Ant and Dec mentioned it tonights trial was the toughest yet and I feel that the producers went too far by putting that huge amount of snakes in that small space with Fearne. Yes there have been trials that there have been snakes in but this was the one tonight was extremely difficult to watch. Ant and Dec looked very worried when the snakes started crawling up her face and when she came back to camp the marks the snakes had made could clearly be seen on her face.
This was NOT entertainment and it should never happen again. Fearne nearly deserves to win the whole thing now for her bravery. I don't mind snakes but in all the years I have watched I'm a celeb this was the most difficult thing I have ever watched

I had To turn away, as soon as they mentioned sssssssnakes, that was it for me.
What a brave girl Fearne was, hats off to her.

I agree actually, I mean I'm probably biased cause I have a fear of them but I saw no entertainment in that whatsoever...she was visibly traumatised, not just the usual amusing terrified screams we've come to expect from people on this show.
There wasn't any laughing, any humour, it was really quite dark.

I didn't enjoy watching it but I am glad Fearn is breaking the dull/idot/fake sterotype set by the likes of Gemma Collins, Joey Essex and Sam Faiers - she has been a joy to watch this series.
In fact for me she and Vicky are the best ones left now Lady C is out
They've got to up the ante though, the show's been on for 15 years.
The only thing she had to do was to remain completely still. Snakes don't know you're there unless you move. It was an intense trial but there has also been some ridiculously easy ones this year. Duncan and Tony, Brian...not exactly strenuous. Even the mud crabs have had their pincers taped up this year.
I'm petrified of snakes but as long as you stay still then they aren't even aware of you.
Besides, Foggy had pretty much the same trial last year, albeit without the two big ones.

It was one of the best trials they've done for years, I couldn't look away and I think it's done Ferne a massive favour, she's probably grabbed herself a spot in the final off the back of that, which is a great thing.

I agree :clap1:
She was never in any danger. All these trials are tested and have handlers at hand to jump in at a seconds notice. Even if the carpet Python had started strangling her, they were able to rip the top of the pit off and get to her.
More of these trials are needed tbh. Make them work for their money.
Imagine Lady C actually attempting that omg :laugh2:

I didn't really see what all the fuss was about. It wasn't any different to the time they buried someone in a coffin of rats. But I'm not bothered by snakes. They would never put poisonous ones in there so the worse they could do is bite you and if you stay still and calm that's unlikely. No snake could get purchase round your neck to choke you when laying down so that was never going to be an issue. I definitely wouldn't have called it the worse trial yet or a step too far.

I thought lovely Ferne was gonna be strangled.
How she didn't try to pull the snake off her neck I don't know.
Maybe it would have pulled tighter.

It depends what you're afraid of though, I would find that one so much easier than any of the ones with creepy crawlies and I just wouldn't do any with spiders, I'd be relieved if it were just snakes

I'm petrified of snakes but I'd rather do that trial than one that involved me doing something to provoke them like putting my hand into their tank or something. If you don't move they just think you're part of the floor.

Yeah like all she had to do was lie there really, I don't get the big deal unless you were actually phobic about snakes and tbh I don't think anyone who had a real phobia could do that anyway. I wouldn't even consider the idea of lying anywhere near a spider.

This^ the snakes obviously would not have hurt her,I thought it easier than having all the critters in there, she did well and it helped her I think.

Yeah, like you saw at the end how quick and easy it was to get to her. I mean fair dues to her and I like the girl but for me it would have been an easy enough trial compared to alot of the others
They seemed more pissed off with each other than paying any attention to Ferne. There was one in a s-bend perched by the hole where they were coming in striking at anything that came through it until the big one came in and scared him off :joker:

hi blue - I repeat this and I done a whole poem on her and last night - she has put herself right up there for winning with that.

if you think about it logically.:Was she in any danger, no - are there people who could get to her in seconds yes. are the snakes well fed, yes. So the danger is all in the mind.

When the python wrapped it's body around her neck that must of been uncomfortable for her but if you stay still then you should be ok with snakes
it's only if you make sudden movements or disturb them that's when they turn vicious and yes as we know snakes can bite but Fearn wasn't in any danger and there's medical team and experts there for instant help
And i still think Jennie Bond's trial was far worse she was in a coffin in the ground covered in rats !!! and i think Rats are far worse

They had a camera on her, they were hardly going to let her get strangled by the snake

True, and the top did lift off, but sometimes things go wrong in TV shows.

to be honest if that constrictor had tightened on her neck I am not sure that they could have got in the burrow, got her out and killed the snake in time, because no man could pull it off her neck, not that big a snake - they would have had to cut its head off.

If that was the case they would have had the lid off that pit straight away, the minute he went round her neck
