View Full Version : 3yrs sober!
Kizzy

On the 24th I will have been sober for 3yrs, as part of my recovery on the AA 12 steps I wanted to thank those that helped and supported me through that time and realised that the forum played a huge part in aiding me through the early months.
I don't want to make it personal to anyone in particular as many have helped me in varying degrees, and whether the exchanges were positive or negative I was able to engage on the forum and avoid the urges and the triggers that would have normally seen me reach for a drink.
So if you thought I was a bit whacko early 2013 that's why, and since...well that's just me
So thankyou Tibb!!!

Honestly well done to you Kizzy, it is a truly great achievement and although people can help you, this is something you have done and always build yourself up as to it too, because it is extremely hard to do.
I know those with alcohol problems and they always come across the idiots who push that one drink won;t hurt, when it would be a disaster or worse, when someone gets them a drink, soft drink, some idiot thinks it funny to put vodka in it.
3 years is excellent and here's to the next 3 too, I do not know you personally, only from being here on TIBB but I am really proud of your achievement as you should rightly be too.
Niamh.

Very well done Kizzy. I'm 20 years sober (although I have a huge addiction to coffee and cigarettes) It's sometimes hard, but life is better for it. Good on you.
