From Popbitch.com:

C4 - How low can you go

Since Jade Goody shot to fame on Channel 4
she has had the same management as Celebrity
Big Brother host Davina McCall, and both
Big Brother spin-off show hosts, Dermot O'Leary
and Russell Brand, as well as last year's
Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle.
So is it any surprise that C4 and CBB
producers are so reticent about condemning
the racist bullying, led by Jade, on their
show? They have their own interests to protect.

I think someone posted something similar to this earlier in the week.

I agree, but Davina did grill Jade last night, and didn't stop the crowd from booing.

Thats not the point.

Davina and C4 were always going to go easy on Jade because they are with the same company.

There was an hour's delay between Jade's eviction and the interview.

I don't think Davina went easy on Jade at all- she gave her coldlooks and when Jade said 'it was nasty' Davina snapped 'yes' back at her.

Being cold is much more effective than being nasty.

Being cold is much more effective than being nasty. I agree there.

Thats not the point.

Jade was put in the house to bully Shilpa Shetty. This was a set-up prepared months and months if not years in advance. Danielle and Jo were handpicked to play their roles properly. Jermaine was hand picked to play Shilpas confidant. Everyone was picked to play a role.

I thought Davina handled the interview very well.

Not stopping the crowds from booing doesn't mean anything. It could have scripted like that. And had no one booed then it would be obvious for every tom, dick and harry to see that it was staged and Endelom have broken their own rules. And this could lead to them being sued. So to have the crowd booing was at their own best interest.

Im sorry but Davina was way to easy. Her voice tone should have been more strict. She shouldn't have asked "do you think" questions, but rather more "but you have done ...." questions.
So rather than have it as open questions which made it seem so leniant, it should have been closed questions which don't allow Jade to be spoilt for choice. If its not racism, it was bullying for sure. And I really feel this statement wasn't projected strong enough.
A staged interview and was an absolute crap attempt at that

Obviously you havnt noticed the Channel 4 series called 'Ugly Betty' about a girl who gets bullied, interspersed between eviction nights. Coincidence? errrmmmm....no.

And in response to your childish Americanism of me being the 'dumbest' person youve ever met, talk to a psychologist talk to a sociologist, talk to anyone that knows anything about behaviour patterns and they will tell you that Big Brother stories are inevitable before the housemates even step foot in the house, once the contestants personalities have been studied.

People would be naive if they thought the housemates were not stage managed via visits to the diary room though.

BB is a multimillion pound business. Stuff isn't left to chance.

I think Davina went hard on Jade during her interview.

They'd do this probably for anyone! It's not like they'd go "Oh well, this nobody is bullying this other person hard. We should just let the nobody be evicted and have the possibility of being harmed!

It's for security issues, anyone's security issues.

I actually thought she was let off easy. But i think it must have been so hard for her watch all the news reports first.

I think your opinion of Davina grilling and her "allowing" booing is laiable to fall on its face if Dannielle, Jo and Jack - are evicted to a crowd and interviewed after a single commercial break, as per usual.

Exceptions were made for Jade, she had time to prepare with her "representatives". We know she spoke to someone friendly but not directly connected to BB - that much she admitted herself in a live feed before eviction - odds are it was John Noel himself or the publicist for her agent, judging by her "anything can be justified" comment [clip available on youtibe].

Its not a grilling when you have been forwarned, know the tone the interview will take, and - I would wager - knew the "questions" in advance
