1)Witnessed the miracle of life with the birth of my first grandchild - a beautiful little girl who was born three months prematurely but is well and safe.
2)Witnessed one of my young son's hard work and dedication pay off when he was promoted to Management in a record time for his company.
3)As sad as it may sound  Consolidated the depth of my cyber friendship with some of the truly wonderful people on here.

There's nothing sad about that from my perspective Kirk, I love to use this Forum as away to express myself in a way that I never could in real life.

A few weeks of travelling, Klopp arriving to ensure that there are so many less depressing days on Merseyside, finally seeing Stereophonics in concert after being a fan for as long as I can remember.

My Sister got the all clear from her cancer in February. ( unfortunately it s now not only back but is stage4 terminal)
When the threat of redundancy loomed we looked at our assets..we are a bit better off than we thought due to discovering a long forgotten pension that we can sell. ( the redundancy looks less likely now due to some pesky workmate winning the lottery and beggaring off)
Hard to think of a third, but in general life is pretty good and I count my blessings most days, having said that, something really good happens then something else comes along and bites you in the bottom:shrug:

The Stereo's are one of the truly GREAT present day groups. Kelly Jones is such a fantastic vocalist he is the only one who sings 'Handbags and Gladrags' BETTER than the great Chris Farlowe.
I've luckily seen them twice.
Good on ya.

I am truly so sorry to hear about your sister Smudgie. My sympathy to you.
I am glad to hear that you may be not now have to endure the redundancy and I applaud your stoical and optimistic attitude to life despite its 'Sod's Law' set backs, which echoes my own attitude.

Well Kirk, the way I look at life is this, no matter how bad things look for you, there will always be some poor beggar out there far worse off, so count your blessings.
We were quite looking forward to the redundancy as we have been saving towards an early retirement for husband for years. It would have meant he could have an early early retirement:laugh:

Reconnected with a friend who I'd grown apart from.
Branched out into new areas with my volunteering.
Became a regular on here and made some fantastic friends as a result.

I got married.
My best friend had a baby which was the nicest shock ever as she has an older child and never wanted any more.
My dad and I became very close after the shock of my mums passing, I always loved him to pieces but always was closer to mum....
Been a tough year for us as a family but I am thankful for my little family and the hilarious ness (and at times hair pulling annoyance) of my son and a child's innocence even when your world is falling apart.
1. Lost 5 stone
2. Gained a whole lot of confidence
3. Finally got a part time job alongside uni

Well Vicky winning was one of my highlights too, but I could only list three Babay.
But I'm sorry you've had such a bad year and hope 2016 is a thousand times better for you.

Asked out this girl I really fancied (first time Ive ever asked a girl out) dated her for a few months and then realised that it wasnt meant to be and I'd be a lot happier without her in my life. As down as she's gotten me, it's made me realise that no matter how much I like someone, I can get over it, even if it hurts.
Met 6 lovely boys in a caravan and now I think we will be friends for life
Got a job I wanted in a school that I applied to 2 years ago but didnt get

5 STONE? Congratulations Jay. I'd be interested how you achieved that - if only by pm if you don't deem it too personal.

Credit it to you. I once lost quite a few stone by eating more sensibly, cutting out the booze and exercising more too Jay, so I KNOW what effort and dedication is needed. 'Everything and anything, but in moderation' is not a bad old adage to heed mate.
I bet your life has changed beyond ALL your wildest dreams now and I hope it keeps on improving for you.
Jessica.
