Well well well.
Fleur getting non stop adverts and TV appearances and Ben's album still charts higher, looks like Ben has won the friendly competition

They released in different weeks.
But either way, Fleur sold like 5k more copies and probably had hundreds of thousands of pounds extra sunk into her promotion. They both done terribly. Time for Simon to pull the plug.

I guess the other albums sold loads because it's probs a big week for albums or something, Adele,Coldplay,1D,Justin Bieber, Michael Buble.. I saw her sales thing on twitter.

Ben released the album earlier with less competition, Fleur released the album last week at the same time as Adele/Coldplay/Jess Glynne etc. which explains why she charted lower despite selling almost 10k more than Ben Whonow.
Plus her #3 debut single Sax has been in the top 10 for 5 consecutive weeks now, whereas Ben's has never reached the Top 20. So it's clear Fleur is making Syco more money :clap1:

Money well spent as she's clearly had a top 10 success for 5 consecutive weeks, and sold more than Ben in terms of both singles and album sales :clap1:
Her album has had barely any promotion, that's where people seem to be getting confused. Syco only promoted Sax, the album only got like 2 TV adverts as promo.

There's no way Fleur will be dropped, she's the only one from Syco bar the 2 groups who is brining in any money
Sax spent 3 weeks in top 5 which I can't remember any X factor contestants from recent series doing

Ben reaches the top 10 and sells 18k with zero promotion to be fair.
Fleur had a massive push by Syco, the huge promo from Asda and her sales were kinda low and she fails to crack the top 10...I know her fans will spin it to make it look great but Simon and Syco will be dissapointed at her not even managing to get into the top 10.
Amy Jade
11-12-2015, 10:27 PM
Also her album is in 3 for £20 in Asdas so she's had a Christmas push too but while there were no Coldplay or Beiber in stock at all and about 5 - 10 of Jess Glynne, 1D and Little Mix the Fleur stock looked relatively full :/

Fleur's song is catchy, but the main issue for her is that she hardly sings on it (but that's a surprise) and she released an uptempo number first which means that it's not gonna sell her Album, I'm not making excuses for her but in fact saying where her Label went wrong with her.
Plus away from some die hard X Factor fans that bought into Simon's rubbish I think that most people will see the two as bland singers, Ben doing better though due to being Pop Rock and being able to have more passable vocals than Fleur.

Her Album was at #17 in the midweeks I think.
If Simon wants that Album to sell Fleur will need to release a top notch ballad as her follow up to Sax.

Yeah, I think if she had released in any other week she would've got Top 10 easily but Syco had to go and release it in the busiest week of album releases didn't they :fist:

Syco should have released it early like Ben did(but not on the same week as 1D and Justin Bieber though) or early next year. she could have had a top 5 album if there wasn't any big artist around because Diana Vickers had a number 1 album with 30k sales, who also wouldn't have made top 10 if she released the same week as fleur.

Leona's Glassheart was #3 with 27k sales in its first week, Fleur did just genuinely release at such a busy time which is a shame because the figure is impressive

I remember Xtina's Bionic went #1 with like 23k and there have been albums since which have sold less yet still went to #1. Fleur numbers are fine, she just released at a bad time

I think one of the weeks Emeli Sande was #1 she sold obout 14k copies
The X Factor is a dying giant and it's a shame that a performer as effusive and energetic as Fleur is suffering as a result - I think Sax is really derivative to the point of being embarrassing but it's parodying good songs and it's a fun track that she sells well. I hope they give her a shot at a second album because if they put the money behind her, I'm sure she'll do well... but Syco's method seems to be to throw average middle of the road **** at their success stories and do everything in their power to sabotage them. It's a very strange business model.

Sax was obviously some misguided attempt at an Uptown Funk smash because she had a popular performance that one time. :joker:

But Fleur would've sold less than Ben if she'd released it at an earlier date as sales aren't as strong then.
Simon gave her the wrong song to sell her Album, all it shows the public is that she's a dancer with a catchy song, and not really much performing and singing going on.
People want artists that push the boat out a little bit, not someone being wired up to do a few dance moves.
