Today's Dirk Situation

Cleo and Jermaine have discussed the Dirk situation. "I meant no malice," Cleo noted. "He looked upset, he looked spent," she sighed.

This was all to do with Cleo dressing up and flirting with him. I don't see why there was such a huge problem in it. Why it reduced Dirk to being a mute today.
