Inside a lovely church at the top of the big loch, sleet showers and gale force winds barrelling down the valley, for my neighbour.

There was maybe 15-20 people in the church :(, i sat behind my neighbours son, his wife and her grandson. A short service, a lovely speech by her son and then a hand-written page read out by the wee boy on why he loved his granny - its was heartbreaking :bawling:

My neighbour was a cantankerous old women with not many friends (we got on just great, naturally) and often not a good word to say about anyone but under that fascade was a kind hearted funny women and devoted mum and grandmother.

A whole life went by in a 30 minute service.

I felt quite sad about it all.

that's really sad, hope you're okay LT. What a brave little boy though. I don't think I'd be able to do that now

That's so sweet - and such a brave little boy, too. My thoughts are with her family

She may have been cantankerous, but she obviously had people who loved her.
