It's a Netflix documentary series about Stephen Avery. Just finished episode 2 of this. It's such a complex and addictive story. Anyone else watching or has seen it??

I've contemplated it but I'm a little put off - an entire series about one guy killing one person seems a bit lengthy to me idk

You should watch it, trust me. Also, that's not what it's about at all (Well it is kind of, but there's so much more to it)

It's great though isn't it. I mean documentary wise.
I watched this nonstop, had to keep watching the next episode to see what was happening then before I know it I had finished it.
Really interesting and emotional documentary.

I stopped watching after episode 8 (it'd been spoiled for me :bored:) and I didn't care too much about Brendan's trial/the aftermath, can't believe there isn't going to be a retrial (yet anyway)
Perched for S2 in 2026!

I watched the first episode last night but wasn't that interested tbh.
I'll definitely keep with it because of the reputation it has, there's a good chance of it getting more exciting. But idk if it's my cup of tea.

Just watched the first episode... I'm reading a similar novel at the moment as well (Gillian Flynn's Dark Places), fiction obviously but to do with the premise of wrongful imprisonment albeit from the perspective of the victim/accused rather than a legal/judiciary one... so it's a strange coincidence. But yes everyone seems to be talking about it and when Ammi tells you to watch something you watch it.
It's quite well made. I'm not too well versed on documentaries but it reminded me a little bit of 'Dear Zachary' in its sheer detail / number of video testimonies. Shall have to watch more when I can.

Finished it yesterday, and I'm not sure I enjoyed watching it. It was gripping, for sure, but I couldn't help shake the feeling that I shouldn't be watching it? I just felt uncomfortable with the idea of it being something I binge-watch like Daredevil or Orange is the New Black or RuPaul's Drag Race  There's something quite worrying to me with murder trials being presented as something to watch... and the families depicted are quite unsettling (the whole close-knit community feeling, tied with their pretty poor intellect, made it feel a little exploitative?) And for the purpose of clarity/fair representation, I'd have liked the victim to be a little more to the viewer than just some bones in a fire pit. But then I assume her family didn't want to be filmed.
Couldn't help but get emotionally invested in the story though and would agree that Brendan's case should've been thrown out of court. Kachinsky, Wiegert, Fassbender & O'Kelly are vermin.

Oh definitely, she wants to be the person that gets “Steven Avery” out of jail, but regardless imo, she’s an amazing lawyer the stuff that she’s picked up on already

It was
Brendan's brother Bobby and his Stepdad.Agreed. Are these the two who happened to see each other while doing separate things on the night of the murder and thus were in position to vouch for each other? Its so lucky and convenient for that to have happened.

Have you watched S2 yet? They pretty much debunk all the “evidence” used by the prosecution with scientific testing
I'm gonna go back and watch series 1, it's been a long while since I watched that and it could be interesting knowing what we know now from Zellner.
