 it wouldn't be the same brain though would it,I don't think the OP meant you were as you are now in a past life:laugh:

I know, a past life as a different being

But then it wouldn't be your past life, it would just be someone else, that lived before you?

Exactly^
It would infact have nothing to do with me.
You could say that we are all genetically related in a way.We all came from the same microbes.

Is this you admitting you are soulless?... Go on, I want you to say it... Say 'I am a soulless void' and I'll believe you. :smug:

I like to think so. But then I also like to think that I'd be happily married with three children in five years time.

Are you soulless?Do you believe you have a soul?

The soul is a religious construct from before the early ancient Egyptian times.I'm not religious so.......

I am a soulless void

There you go

The thing I don't get about this whole "soul living on" talk, is what exactly do you think happens when you die? I mean like, the specific process lol. Does your soul fly to the hospital and jump into the nearest newborn? (In which case, if there aren't enough deaths, does that mean that some babies won't get their soul???) Or is it your soul that convinces some random couple to conceive a child, and it hangs around and jumps into the sperm or something? Like, it just doesn't make any sense to me  I'd love it if a believer could explain this to me.

And also, if you believe that every living thing has a soul, and you also believe that your soul carries on in someone else after you die, surely for this to work, there would have to be exactly the same number of deaths/births at all times, otherwise I'm sorry, but the maths just doesn't add up
Unless of course some babies get a shiny new soul, whilst others get your second hand one? In which case who decides who get's what? (If you answer this with "your soul decides" then I officially give up )

I think re-incarnation has as much validity if not more than other theories. We are all carbon based lifeforms at the end of the day, and a fundamental law of physics is that nothing can be created nor destroyed, it just transforms. Its not beyond the bounds of possibility that some of the elements that contributed toward a previous life contribute to a future one and that some memory is held within the elements. I certainly lean toward it being possible.

It's as believable as the soul flying off to heaven or hell and that's a given for millions?

Not I think it's even more unlikely then there being an after life. I don't believe in souls in general

After a hard day in the treacle mines it's important to unwind.
