I don't know about anyone else but surely this series sees the worst set of hm8s ever, I think its time to scrap CBB for a few years, give it time to get some decent hm8s who want to go in, they've really scraped a deep barrel this year by putting in a set of utter bores ,what do you think ?

I think theres a good mix of housemates this time plus it's only been a couple of days so how anyone can claim it's terrible or they are bores yet is beyond me.

The 2 per year format certainly needs resting

and I agree there has been a lot of barrel scraping this series.

I'm with Chuff, this series holds no interest for me. None of the housemates are engaging. I've already switched off.

Just a re ash of all we've seen before, bed hoppers, attentions seekers, squealers ,all doing the same thing ...making out they are in love within hours, putting make up on the men ,we've seen it all before

Not one of them are interesting ,and even if they were you never get to see them because BB concentrate on the stupid bed hoppers

Isnt this what we see every time though, CBB and the Civilian series?

Its what happens when a group of strangers are thrown together.

I think one a year would be good.Hopefully get some good celebs in and keep the civilian BB for actual civilians with no media or celebrity connections at all.
Civvy and Celeb BB are kind of molding into the same thing. We need a clear distinction.

I agree chuff, this years crop are a big bag of bores, wanabees and bedhoppers. Mind you, if the prods invented tasks that were funny and threw in some starvation days, we might see a different house.

No.
It hasn't had time to get off the ground yet.
We are never going to get really big names for the show, too high risk of someone letting themselves down. Those that do it are in it for the money or to flag up their careers, and best of luck to them.
I haven't heard of most of them this year, but that's probably down to my age and the type of telly I watch, but for me it makes it more interesting to watch it unfold.
As long as they get enough viewers they will stick to the format they have, I suppose if you are getting fed up of the same old same old then it's a case of just turning over.

It needs to be stripped right back to basics for the celeb one with fewer hms and a shorter duration. Definatly dont need any reality tv stars in it, people watch their shows to see them being real(lol) in the shows they are already on. We need interesting celebs who have already marked their place on the fame ladder through some form of talent.

I prefer normal BB personally. And apart from the fanbases that must be brought to the show, I don't know how CBB rates so much higher than BB; because the issues are the same: occasional poor casting, manipulation, outside influence and inconsistency in rules. Both shows are poorly run at the moment, so I don't know why normal BB is the one that gets all the criticism.

But on topic, no I don't think either CBB or BB should be cancelled - they just need to be managed differently.

EDIT: Summer CBB definitely needs to go though. Who thought/thinks that was a good idea? The celebs are scraping the barrel this time.

I don't see how resting the show will result in different types of HM's wanting to go in  It's always been z listers and it always will be.

But if it's getting stale for you, maybe stop watching it for a couple of years then come back to it. That's what I did when it finished on ch4.

maybe at least only one a year but i never judge the series or moan about a crap cast. i only know anywhere from 2-4 at the most. maybe once or twice 5 or more. needs to play out before i say its a bunch of crap HM. their celeb status shouldnt really matter. its about what they do in the house. some of the most known sucked something awful. like that one series with Evander Holyfield. most known or top known that season and was a crap HM.

If they renamed it reality show leftovers rather than CBB maybe it would fair better as then at least it would be honest.

Cant really call it celebrity if theres only 1 or 2 out of the whole bunch are either other reality show cast offs or friends of famous people.

I think BB should be pulled full stop.

The recent episodes have really highlighted the general problem with BB. The casting has for some time now included a share of troubled characters who quite frankly aren't up to dealing with high pressure environments. It can't be right to create and broadcast a scenario whereby people with serious personal problems are pitted against each in tasks specifically designed to expose these problems. I'm thinking about the food and alcohol issues with Megan. BB casting seriously got the Megan appointment wrong. I think they deliberately create these scenarios without any serious thought for any potential effect this may have on the viewer or the contestants themselves. Some posters are saying its all a bit of fun and shouldn't be taken so seriously but it didn't look like fun when Tiffany was refusing to apologize to Angie and calling her an old bitch. It didn't look like fun with Megan last night. Darren looks like a rabbit caught in Johns headlights. He looks very confused and seems to be putting himself in harms way for a few quid. It is a sad day when such sickeningly contrived and harmful circumstances are deemed to be entertainment and we just lie down and accept this rubbish.

If you think that, you shouldn't even be on this forum. This is a BB fansite (hence why it's called "THIS IS BIG BROTHER") and people who say that "BB should be stopped" aren't true fans.

I only joined this forum the other day following the Tiffany/Angie incident and do not intend to continue viewing. I'm not a regular fan of BB but yes I feel strongly about a few things and don't think some of the HM do appreciate what they are doing to themselves. I don't particularly like any of them but as a human being felt some sort of social conscience. There needs to be a responsibility to society in general but this show doesn't seem to care about that.

I am also complaining about the other crap in the world elsewhere.

Why would you suggest they scrap it when so many people are still enjoying it? Do you not want other people to enjoy something if you don't enjoy it?

Why would you want other people's entertainment stopped because you don't like the current set up?

It had only just started too, I'm not sure if you watch this regularly but it usually takes a few days for something kick off. It can seem a little boring in the beginning if you're still trying to work out who is who.

I really like the first few days because it gives me a time to pick out who I think will be the ones to watch - oh and when I've done that, a week later I always find I picked the wrong ones.

i still maintain that there is nothing engaging about any of this series cast. Nothing to like about, get behind and support. There isn't an intelligent one amongst them which means "entertainment" has to revolve around contrived drama. I have watched very little of this series, so I have effectively scrapped it for this series. Others may enjoy it, and thats fine, but its just not for me.

Briancbbfan
15-01-2016, 04:53 PM
No I don't think it's time to scrap it. I really enjoy it actually.

What I will say, is that recently it's become very 'American' styled. There's a huge reliance on 'VH1'/MTV styled reality TV. Between Tiffany & Farrah the last two series have been quite 'trashy'.

Personally, I don't mind that. I really enjoy reality TV shows and I know alot of other people hold this opinion also!

But the level of trashiness it's currently at is off putting for a lot of people which means ratings really are capped at 3m! It's become very drama focused which is focused on a younger demographic! I love the show though and would hate to see it go!
