View Full Version : Jeremy's utter contempt for nancy
I can see where hes coming from as she would annoy the hell out of me, but do you think the severity of it could be down to the tragedy he's suffered in life?

I read that he lost his mother, sister and brother in the span of 15 months, I can't imagine how awful that would be.
That said, I don't see what it would have to do with his issue with Nancy.

I think he has a problem with mother figures due to his losses.

That's the view I'm coming to as well sam.
To happen to someone so young as well it must have been and still be so difficult for him. Every woman will in some way remind him of his mum in some way and she will come into his head every hour of every day still i would imagine.

I don't understand his obsession with her, all he's ever seen doing is bitching about Nance

Stephanie's the same. They both seem to REALLY dislike Nancy.
I think it's just the air of her that really rubs them up the wrong way.
She is a very confident self assured woman, and maybe she is being a bit dismissive of them or giving them the impression that she sees them as beneath her. I could laugh something like that off and not let it bother me much as I would just find it very stupid, but stuff like that can really get under the skin of a lot of people, although it seems to be mainly these 2 (Jeremy and Steph) who she is bothering most.
Maybe she is purposefully winding them up or something in bits we don't see?

The main problem Jeremy has with Nancy is that she is the only housemate who very CLEARLY dislikes him. You can see it in her actions and the way she looks at him as if she is above him. I am not mad about her but I very much dislike Jeremy for voting to evict her instead of Winston. I like Steph but if she keeps aligning herself to him I will be going off her bigtime. I too feel very sorry for Jeremy losing his loved ones but he needs to stop the bitching and just try and talk to Nancy so that they can air their problems

..yeah, I agree Peggy..(hey btw, it's always lovely to see you posting....)..we all have our 'pet hates' in terms of character/personality etc, don't we...and due to personal experiences in life as well and her self confidence may be something that he just can't connect with at all and sees her as condescending or feeling that she's 'superior' in some way...

Nancy doesn't just give an impression of being above everyone else, she believes it too! In fact on a couple of occasions at least, she has stated how superior she is. Nancy's ego is the biggest thing in that house.

I agree and that's why I'm going off her.

Awww, poor guy. That's awful! :bawling: I'm warming to him. He's now my second favourite after Scotty. These two are a good laugh.

I don't get all the hate from him and Stephanie towards Nancy, all they do is bitch about her, those two and Scotty are my least favourite in there, and neither of them will last long

His contempt seems OTT when compared to what he thinks she's done.
Steph's too. She was well up for a row during winegate.

Agree. Steph just seems up for a fight with anyone & Nancy seems fair game.
They seem to be really gunning for her & I don't think she has done anything that wrong.

Because she doesn't kiss their bums, she makes them feel like immature idiots...and with good reason.

Totally agree.
She is very intelligent & knows her own mind. She does not find their behaviour funny & suck up to them.

What has Nancy done wrong exactly?
They just seem to be very insecure around her. It's as if they are scared of how self-assured and confident she is.

I'm all for this continuing if it means Nancy survives more votes out of sympathy :hee:

I've said this on another thread, but she's an intelligent professional woman, well travelled, bilingual, cultured, educated... so it makes me laugh when people in the house who probably couldn't point to Italy on a map and who can't even speak eloquently in their native language, let alone a foreign one, make out she's no better than them.

That is devastating,really sad.
I think Nancy just rubs him up the wrong way and she does come across to me as annoying too.
I actually quite like Jeremy and he has stuck to his view of Nancy since coming to it too.

People in cliques have this deluded thought that everybody else longs to become a member. Once a clique is formed, some of the members fear newcomers as this may diminish their own stature within.
I have no doubt they'll succeed in getting Nancy evicted. Then they'll move onto someone else. Pack mentality.
Two months from now, Nancy will be sipping vintage champagne in The Groucho Club, while this crew will be crawling their local Wetherspoons craving some fleeting recognition.
btw Kizzy, anyone who quotes Nye Bevan gets my vote.

She isn't. I don't like Jeremy much but it's also a pet peeve of mine when people walk around thinking they're better then someone else because they can speak some more languages or have traveled to more countries or whatever reason
