I am not one of these hysterical types who cries racism at the slightest thing but looking at that episode as a whole I definitely think there were racist motives to what went on.
Every stereotype came out, John with the plate of chicken, them all claiming to be scared of Tiffany, the laziness thing about tiffany not helping round the house.
And the incident that led to all this just wasn't bad enough. She was being treated as badly as shahbaz and all she had done was be involved in a misunderstanding and shout at a few people.
You also have to think it is a bit of a coincidence that the 2 black housemates, Winston and tiffany, have both been ganged up on and attempted to be rid of just because of a single incident.

Nothing to do with racism, more to do with a clash of cultures i feel. Tiffany herself said she has no common ground with any of the HMs the other night, therefore sadly she has become isolated. After she completely lost it tonight it's only natural for the others to side with Angie.
It's also worth noting that Jonathan chose Tiffany for immunity yesterday and tonight called her bonkers for her reaction, that alone demonstrates how bad/nasty her reaction may have been.

I agree 100% that there were racist motives present - and I say that as a white British male. It is terrible that Big Brother has allowed such blatant bullying to occur. I do not think that Tiffany over-reacted in the slightest, nor was she aggressive - if everybody ganged up on me like that I would've probably reacted worse in the heat of the moment.
You could see that she was truly sorry for the misunderstanding, and the offering of her condolences to Angie was clearly more genuine than anybody else's.
It was very difficult to watch this poor girl, having been isolated by the group - who clearly will do whatever nasty John says, attempt to be the bigger person and make amends with her fellow housemates, only to be shunned once again.
I hate to say it, but I do not think it's a coincidence that the two black housemates have been unfairly ganged up on. Ok - so Winston's views may have been controversial, but he is absolutely entitled to those views.
If he or Tiff were white or gay, things would not have escalated the way they have. FACT.
This is bigger that Big Brother. It's 2016 - this sort of thing should not be happening. It is shocking to see.
First time I've ever posted on here but I felt so strongly about what I saw that I needed to vent!

I don't think it was about racism. I think it was about the fact that everyone has felt like Tiffany has been lazy around the house when it comes to chores and helping out, and this was just an excuse to finally confront her and rally around getting her out. I think they were frustrated because they all planned on nominating her, but she got the immunity and so they all feel vulnerable because they can't nominate her.
It's much more about the fact that they all planned on nominating her and having her evicted, but now they are all more vulnerable because they can't nominate her and one of them will be evicted instead.
and let's face it, they will get the americans out first. angie, tiffany, and david will be nominated every time, i garuntee it. the brits always put the americans up first.

In the USA its used extensively as a slur. I'm not defending it, i'm just saying its there, and combined with John's demeaning intent at the time, it is not beyond the bounds of possibility.

i think it's specifically fried chicken...because it's originally from the south, and a lot of southern cuisine was invented by the black cooks working for whites...plus because slaves were given the scraps of meat, they tended to deep fry them to make it taste better because they were given the worst foods, so they did whatever they could to add flavor. they fried everything in the left over fat to add flavor. that's basically where all soul food comes from.

but in general food is often used to demean other people or make them feel different in a demeaning way...
like saying to a korean or chinese that they eat dogs, or japanese eating raw fish, or the british eating horse...it can be said in a derogatory way even though it's part of their culture.
people in australia eat kangaroo, people in florida eat alligator, people in canada bash baby seals over the head, people in africa kill albino humans to use heir body parts in voodoo rituals...

I see a lot wrong with the way Tiffany behaved last night and the response was disproportionate and deeply associated with her gender and race IMO.
I also believe that some of the H/Ms descended into pack mentality because of the her race and gender. It simply wouldn't have happened to Jeremy in the same way if he believed D Gest was dead and raved stupidly about it.
I am not a person that believes differences will not trigger ignorance in others who want to instigate a fight.
Differences are always on the table when someone is spoiling for a fight and John has been spoiling with all that repression and took his minions along with him.

Nothing to do with her race or gender, it was her vile attitude

This is why we need to SUPPORT Tiffany because we know the housemates are now going to nominate her as soon as they get the chance, especially after John was screaming no one feels safe no one wants her around in front of everyone, basically swaying their nominations.

And Perez completely tarnished the ''gay community'' during his whole stint in the house, what's your point?

Jaxie said it's not a well-known stereotype in the UK. So you post a Wiki page supporting his statement. Bit odd.

Tbh, due to the show being edited none of us truly know how out of hand the situation got in the house so it's difficult to determine whether the reaction of the HMs was excessive or not, but going by the snippet of what we saw i agree that certain HMs could have handled the situation a whole lot better.
That said, i disagree that the reaction was due to race for a couple of reasons but the main one being that Daniella had the exact same reaction towards Angie when she was under the impression that Angie had said that Gest was dead. He initial reaction was that Angie was 'fcking sick' and that 'she should be removed from the house'. So no double standards here as the reaction was exactly the same towards both Tiffany and Angie.
I agree with you that HMs would not have rounded on another HM as much as Tiffany but again i don't think that's down to race. Tiffany herself the other day said that she has nothing in common (or words to that affect if i remember correctly) with anyone in the house, most of the other HMs have bonded therefore it's only natural, rightly or wrongly, for people that have bonded to be more compassionate to each other when they have been in the wrong.
Edit: On a side note, the only person to emerge from that show last night in a positive light would be Jeremy. I do despise when people are rounded upon, whether they were in the wrong or not, and on two occasions this series Jeremy has refused to join the pack hounding for blood. Credit to him for firstly voting Nancy ahead of Winston when the popular move would have been to vote for Winston and also last night, when he said he would not isolate Tiffany despite what had happened.

Twitter definitely seems to have an issue with black girls so there's definitely some form of racism from some corners of the audience.
The fact that it's "PC" to not want to be a racist is a growing trend shows you how horrible this show is going as apparently it's okay to be prejudiced towards contestants for stuff that they can't control such as their appearance, which is essentially what race is.
But yes I haven't been watching the series as of late as it appears to be very dull, but the majority of Housemates target who they think will be unpopular with the public and that appears to be Tiffany on face value.
So yeah it's less about racism and more about pleasing the public, it's the same with why 13 Housemates voted out Winston and how they all have a "gay friend" in a desperate effort to get the gay vote.

Nobody is claiming we should adopt them. We are simply talking about being aware of them.
