So I just watched it again because I couldn't really remember hearing about chicken, and this is what was said as accurately as I can.

Christopher comes and asks if they can all gather so that Tiffany can talk to the group.

John says I don't really want to talk to her right now, she only wants to come in because she's starving and we'll be cooking dinner in a minute and she wants her plate of chicken.

It was said in a matter of fact way, not with any sneers or seeming inuendo.

Christopher says well ok then I'll tell her.

I don't think it was said in a racist way, it sounded just like chicken is what they were cooking for dinner. :shrug:

TBH it was said so normally that it's easy to miss it, one of the reasons why I don't think it was meant in an offensive way, no one else batted an eyelid or gasped or looked shocked or anything.

I agree, to me they were having chicken for dinner, and John was possibly referring to the fact that she wanted to sort things out because she was hungry and wanted her dinner which happened to be chicken, he said it in a way that referred to her just taking what she wants and leaving....that's how i took it anyway.

If it is made clear that dinner was actually chicken then I believe he's innocent.
Until then I believe he slipped a slur deliberately.
