Penguin Random House today announced a World Rights deal for the autobiography of TV presenter Rylan Clark. The deal was struck by Ajda Vucicevic on behalf of Century, with Rory Scarfe of Furniss Lawton and Jack Madeley at James Grant Management.

Rylan Clark has quickly risen to be one of the most successful and in-demand presenters today. Since finding fame on the X Factor, Rylan went on to win Celebrity Big Brother, present the sister show ‘Big Brother’s Bit on The Side’, become a full time member of the This Morning team as well as reach the final of Celebrity Masterchef.

Rylan was raised by his mum and grandmother in East London before moving to a small town in Essex. He had big dreams from an early age and followed them with unflinching determination. In his autobiography Rylan will openly talk about growing up in East London and Essex, the quest to become famous, and the ups and downs on his journey to stardom.

Century editor, Ajda Vucicevic said: “I am so proud to be publishing Rylan. He is undoubtedly a household name; much loved for his fun and positive attitude as well as his sharp wit and charm. The book will be the perfect combination of his humble beginnings, fame, humour, honesty and a heaping of celeb gossip from a reality TV star who has broken the mould, that will make this the celebrity autobiography to own this year.”

Rylan said: “When I think back over the past three years to how much I've been lucky enough to achieve in such a small space of time it really hits home. On paper this should never have happened; I was the X Factor joke act, but little did many know at the time I was happy to play along. This book really has been like a therapy session. I've been honest, genuine and not frightened to tell the real truth about what happened along the way. Some of which on reflection has even surprised myself...”

The book will be published in hardback and as an ebook in July 2016 by Century and will be published in paperback in 2017.

Century is an imprint of Cornerstone Publishing, part of The Random House Group Ltd, based in the UK. The Random House Group Ltd is a Penguin Random House Company.

lol i thought the same when reading the thread title. its like those VH1 Behind the Music or E True Hollywood Stories episodes over here. at first they were legit about people being in the business for decades. the ones they did in the last few years that were on were doing some when someone has only been around for a couple years or barely more. made no sense.
