If I was offered something that I really wanted to the extent that Gemma really wanted that blow dry, I'd probably take it up too tbh

On a personal level, no. On a housemate level in the context of an entertainment programme, yes. The latter of which is why she chose to take it, and rightly so :clap1:

Especially as she bitched to the hairdresser the whole way through :umm2:
..I think that it depends which way it's looked at...if a 'scripted' theory is thought to be the case..(and I don't usually go with 'FIX' theories but I am suspect of some things in this series..)...then when she and Daniella 'walked', I think that one of the persuasions of getting her back, was her being upset about the 'get Gemma outs' and BB reassuring her that her selfishness and me, me, me was getting a lot of airtime so was a good thing..'she was the star'/type thing and also with the blow-dryer as Cherie said, playing up to the Diva of being so fussy and demanding...so yes, from that point of view, she was very right in playing up to the public attention and being talked about/entertainment...
I hope you all voted no just for her meltdown.

Housemates like Darren & Christopher who appear to be frightened to go against her?
Or housemates like John who said yes because it looked like a losing battle?
Or housemates like Daniella & Tiff who seem to be under her spell?

It doesn't matter if it's a TV show, the other HMs were still going to have to go a day without hot water which makes her selfish - really

But Niamh, she said her hair was causing her distress and making her ratty and depressed, so she was doing the others a great favour by getting it done. :hehe: Look at what a changed woman she was when she came back from the hairdresser. Wanting to do spinning tasks and peel potatoes and everything. :joker:

Yes it does, the question in the OP is 'was Gemma right to accept the professional blow dry?', in the real world the answer would of course be no, there is no denying the act is completely selfish, but within the confines of an entertainment programme the decision was for the purposes of the show the correct one, and Gemma understands this.
Her being on a TV show doesn't make her accepting it any less selfish, that's not what I'm arguing, but it does make her decision to be selfish a righteous one because this is TV, not real life. Kirk's post about how there couldn't be any other way of seeing it is what I was disputing.

Once again it shows how selfish and lazy she is,why can't she wash her own her,I see all the hm doing their own her,I don't see tiff demanding special treatment for her extensions,
Of course not, but I didn't expect anything else from the lazy, selfish girl that she is

She should have removed the ratty extensions she was so concerned about; maybe she'd find her actual hair easier to care for than the fake stuff.
