View Full Version : Tiffany Pollard If Tiff was a man...

If Tiff was a man her sexual behaviour would be seen as disgusting. Telling Jeremy she wants to fck him... in front of everyone. Trying to kiss him. Saying she will be there for Scotty T now that Megan has gone. In a sexual way. Talking about Darren even though he has a wife. Thinking back to Winston checking out some of the women... that was nothing in comparison and he was slated for it! There is a clear double standard here. The fact it doesn't even appear to be an issue or talked about is incredible. :nono:

Her behaviour is not sexist. The difference is she has told Darren/Jeremy how she felt and wasn't pervy/seedy over the situation.
Winston didn't approach Nancy or any of the other females he was undressing with his eyes and said look I think you're hot and that's that, or said I wanted to have sex with you the minute I saw you!
Comparing Tiffany's behaviour to that of Winston's is ridiculous.

Come on. She was looking Jeremy up and down and biting her lip at one point. How is that not pervy? And the idea that vocalising your interest makes a difference is the ridiculous part. Doesn't make it any less seedy. Especially because Darren is married. She's clearly hoping he's going to turn round and say... lets forget about my wife and get it on. And the fact she said "don't tell any of the other girls". She knows she shouldn't be saying something.

Darrens a gentleman thats why. Like I said imagine the roles were reversed. Like David Guest was to come up to Kristina Rihanoff and tell her he thinks about her sexually. Exclaiming infront of everyone how he wanted to fck Stephanie as soon as she came through the door. THEN talking about how he will be there for Meghan... physically, because Scotty has been evicted.
I guarantee he would be seen as a perv on just one of those accounts nevermind them all.
And also Tiff wasn't saying no to Winston in the bed. She was giggling away and getting closer. It was only because the other housemates thought it was pervy and thought she needed "protecting". Another double standard. Poor girl can't think for herself.

If Tiff or Gemma were men you'd invite them politely down some alleyway away from any evidence and then deck them. I'm honestly not looking for that on this show, but wouldn't it be more fun to have a boxing match or say a wrestling match set up where housemates abused by the worst get a chance to knock them to the canvass,
not knocked out
and in gull protective gear.
That's better and far more entertaining than watching cowards and bullies helped out by BB
who know those they abuse can't touch them.

That makes them a cowardly bully.
Don't know why the eyes. It's simple enough to understand. And Tiff apart from her disgustingly nasty lie that Angie had said David Gest was dead has done nothing to cause drama. The only thing she's done is try to stop HM s talking about her to try and undemocratically block what they say to the public

I don't think so
I mean if the genders were reversed I'd feel the same about Tiffany as Tiffany approached it as a woman. She respected Darren's space and said she didn't want to make things awkward and just wanted him to know how she felt. I don't think that's really comparable to Winston saying all that disrespectful **** about the women undressing
sungrass
25-01-2016, 06:08 PM
"If" as a hypothetical in this context is too abstract to have any meaning. Tiffany had a crush on Darren - Wiston was slimy. The thing is - its that roles cant be reversed- Tiffany is a woman - thats the fact - why imagine if she was a man? Men and Women are different. Thats also a fact.

You should compare the "victims" reactions rather than the perpetrators actions. If you did, you would realise that it is not double standards at all. Making somebody laugh with sexual actions is not anywhere close to the same as making somebody uncomfortable with them.

If Tiffany was a man behaving like that with 2 younger girls, touching them between the legs in the shower, giving them some tongue, I think most of her supporters would be baying for her to be removed from the house. Remember how everyone got because Jeremy touched Chloe's robe? Tiffany had the shower door open and her hands all over Scotty's penis. No eyelids batted?

but she's not a man, she's a woman, and women get treated differently. in most ways they get treated worse than men, but in some cases they have some privelidges.
also if 2 girls made out with the same guy, they would both be called sluts, but no one is calling scotty and jeremy sluts for both kissing the same girl.

2 people acting up in a sexual way.
1 person helping another person who is being sick. That person is then made completely uncomfortable when the person she is helping moves her robe to reveal her boob.

It def appears to be hypocrisy by some of the viewers, Jeremy and Steph are doing exactly the same thing....but I think it's great for some viewers.....I def applaud it...I think there should be more sex and naughty stuff.....it's a part of what BB is about ...and any of the young ones who go in there or any ones partner who goes in there must surely expect that these things can happen....my only discomfort with Tiffany isn't that she's chasing Scotty it's that she's chased 3 blokes one after the other...and even that doesn't bother be morally but it makes her looks bit silly and I thought she was a bit cooler than that

Darren said “how much have you had to drink”. So clearly he seen this situation as something that is only warranted if you’re highly intoxicated! Men are more comfortable with their sexuality and can easily and effortlessly accept and move on from something like this. Which is my point. If the same were to happen to a woman. She would be in the diary room slating a man for being a perv.
You don’t tell a man who has a wife, on television, that you are interested in him. Why would you need to? Other than the hope that he will say he does too? This is the definition of seedy. Lacking moral fibre. From a societal perspective anyway. But because she’s a woman she gets away with her overt sexual nature. Men don’t anymore. They are expected to keep it to themselves. If you’re going to say men have to keep it to themselves then surely Tiff should be expected to as well. This is why it’s a double standard. I personally have no problem with Winston or Tiff being overtly sexual. Because you’re lying to yourself if you’re holding it in otherwise. What I have a problem with is the fact a woman’s body must be respected more so than a man’s.
Men are made to feel uncomfortable about their feelings towards woman. Then woman who like a guy complain he doesn’t have the balls to take it to that level. But he’s been wussyfied by the years and years of conditioning. All a woman needs to do is say .. “I appreciate you find me attractive. I would too if I were you. But I’m not interested”. Nobody said this to Winston. If he were to continue his behaviour after this fact then and only then does it become acceptable to claim he’s making you uncomfortable.

I actually am leftie liberal funnily enough lol I'd suggest the media are righty authoritarian. People should be free to express themselves in whatever way they feel like expressing themselves. However, when one group of people seemingly see themselves as priveledged... male or female. I feel obligated to point it out. As per this post. I'm glad you agree with my comment though. I don't believe it is sexist to talk openly about your feelings and desires. What is sexist is the fact the female gender, in this situation, appears to be able to act in a more overtly sexual manner without being labeled as a man would. Winston being an example.

It was said in the diary room why would it have been more threatening and less in fun if it was Ken instead of Tiffany who offered comfort by opening their legs?
Because Tiff was saying it about people who were physically stronger than her whilst not having a tool that could penetrate the weaker person. There was no way that what Tiff said could have had sinister undertones unless, like you, you add a buttload of 'what if' hypothetical situations which would completely change the context of the thing that happened.
What happened was - nothing - and twisting the context until you find a way to be offended is senseless.
..Northern Monkey, your Scotty T impersonation LOL.....
Jeremy and Scotty t seemed very into the kissing thing and showing her their bits last night  Looked like they were all just having a bit of a laugh tbh
...yeah, not only thoroughly enjoying it but Scotty has been giving Jeremy and Steph a few 'longing' looks when they've been snuggling and kissing in bed, sine Megan left I've noticed...that young man is feeling a bit sexy/sexy and very frustrated .....I think with Jeremy, although he has Steph to snuggle up to, it's all feeling a bit too intense and not much fun to him and boys just wanna have fun, which is also the same with Tiffany...she's been a bit 'out of it' with the young single ladies and the first opportunity to have a bit of fun and sexy/sexy herself.... all of them just 3 single people having a bit of fun and desperately needing it...because it's a huge part of what housemates go into the house for as well/hope to have, but it often becomes too series and 'drama', tension etc very quickly....

I'm not offended I'm pointing out as per the thread that double standards do come into play for people depending on who is saying it. You are assuming Tiffany is weaker than those she is coming on to and Ken is stronger when actually he's a fairly old guy, how can you know the girls in question couldn't throttle him? I'm a woman and I do think that sometimes there are double standards on behaviour and women can be a cut a lot more slack than men on what is and isn't appropriate. Not a Ken fan, but I thought he was a fairly good comparison. If we are emancipated then that doesn't mean men can't sneeze without being accused of being inappropriate it means we are, or should be equals. By those standards really what Tiffany said in the diary room was as inappropriate as anything Ken said and she should probably be given a warning.

Everything she did with Scotty and Jeremy was completely consensual, that's the difference between Tiffany and the male HMs that got warnings or kicked out for sexual harassment. Scotty T and Jeremy liked and wanted the night's activities to continue, People like Chloe, Nancy, Joel and others didn't want none of that from the likes of Jeremy, Winston and Aaron. That's the difference.
It's kind of troubling that some people can't seem to tell the difference.

It isn't double standards because you are comparing two different things. Compare it to a 4 foot skinny midget saying it about female wrestlers if you want to swap the genders. Its just not sinister. Its humorous. And everyone bar you and like two other people saw it this way

What ssues? It's just people who dislike Tiffany trying to make her out to be some sex pest praying on Scotty T when he was more than consensual.
There's no issues to speak of when it comes to Tiff's, Jeremy's and Scotty's actions on that night. They all had fun and it was all consensual, nothing more nothing less.

He has done much worse to him and got away with it. I guess if Scotty complains he will be in trouble. :hehe:

I meant about the potential double standards in how people respond to Tiffany saying something in the diary room that is quite inappropriate and someone like Ken. I found it just as sleazy both times.

A few people have pointed out Winston is seen as pervy because his advances aren't reciprocated. Darren has said he was uncomfortable with her advances. So it wasn't consensual or acceptable to him. Technically that means Tiff is a perv aswell if we're following the logic here.
It doesn't even matter if its consensual or not. The point of the whole thread is that if she was a man she would be seen as a perv or seedy. Its a double standard. I don't think what Tiff has done is wrong. But in that respect why do we see Winston as wrong. You see what I'm saying..
