View Full Version : Stephanie Davis Phone call from Dad
I couldn't believe my ears when her Dad said "We are all so proud OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING".
WTF?
Fair enough if he wanted to reassure his daughter of his love and support, but to say that was just encouraging her and was frankly, well, downright WRONG!
Then Steph goes and sits on top of Jeremy who is lying on the bed and they simulate the sex act. I just can't....
What else could he say? To be honest, she's acting like a lot of kids do their age. The only difference is there are camera's around. They're probably just reassuring her at this point that she still has their support because it's probably going to be very bad when she gets out... they probably just want to handle it privately.
I get that, but under the circumstances of her time in the house, there is a big difference between "I'm proud of you" and "I'm proud of what you are doing"
He did seem like a lovely man though.

He did more or less tell her to reign it in a hit, telling her that we see everything, not that she took much notice:laugh:

I said this on another thread when he said to her 'keep your dignity'.
What, she lost that by the end of the very first week.
I guess no one connected to you who loves or cares for you is going to ring in and say you are a disgrace but really, there is absolutely nothing at all to be proud of as to Stephanie's time in the house.
Even removing the disgusting humiliation of a year long live in boyfriend and the nonsense with Jeremy too,her pathetic tantrums and screaming like a banshee with disrespectful treatment for others and property in the diary room.
Proud, wow, some are easily pleased then as to having pride in someone.
She had a bad reputation as to behaviour as to her work in the real life, I hoped to see the better side of Stephanie in the house,in her case however we have seen even worse than perhaps the reasons she got sacked from Hollyoaks,so maybe there is not a better side to see now, in my view anyway.

So you would say to your son/daughter that you weren't proud of them? How's that going to make them feel?
It's not as if she's been like Helen Wood and constantly acted vile or bullied anyone. She's made one big mistake and even she has realised that, so it's not like her Dad's going to rip into her on national TV. (I'm not even a Stephanie fan)

...pretty much these really...(I think that you're focusing in a bit too much on wording, jet my friend......)...whether it's her own fault or not, Steph is obviously very emotionally fragile atm and then wasn't the time/place etc, other than to give his support, which he knew she desperately needed for those unconditional people in her life ...we are proud of you/we are proud of what you're doing..it's just wording but to me, the same meaning....

Not to me.
"I'm proud of you" leaves it open to interpretation as to what he is proud of and when he was proud of her.
"I'm proud of what you are doing" is more specific, as what she has been doing is rolling around in bed with someone who isn't the boyfriend she's been living with for over a year.
I'm a finer detail person. :hehe:

He seemed like a very nice man indeed. He just said something I found very strange. Are you the opinion police? Maybe I should have run it by you first. :hehe:

Right back at ya. :joker:
The difference is I'll admit it if my fave actually does something really wrong. I don't defend the indefensible. Tiff is my fave yet I criticized the way she takes being nommed, she drives me crazy with her screeching. You made all sorts of excuses for John when he named and shamed Steph over her dirty knickers. :nono:

I didn't make excuses,I was posting about OTHERS part in that aswell and that it WASN'T just John, but 'people' were claiming it was just him, simple as,John did not name and shame her, they didn't know who's they were then, yes he said name and shame,so what? worse has been said in there,or did your expertise at weeding out what others can't, fail you on that one.I have not criticized John as I find nothing to criticize him on,other than he handled the Tiffany thing badly, but not spitefully, that's my opinion like it or not.
How young women/men can do these things in front of their watching family beats me :yuk:  I guess the parents etc just have to switch off and pretend it isn't happening...it must be awful for them though.

:laugh: made me really laugh that she did that.....and I know it will make a lot of people mad and that also makes me laugh....sometimes her bahaviour is as bad as Gemma but because I don't think she means it and because I don't think she has the maturity to reflect herself I find it amusing and sometimes endearing....( this could be an original concept  and I dont expect others to see it the same way )
I think she's a car crash that doesn't know what she's doing while at the same time somehow making all the right moves....and I love that, taps into what I find funny

Jeremy shouldn't have given her his locket though....she isn't mature enough to understand what it's worth....makes me nervous that it's in her care....I hope if she abuses it that Darren or John take it off her.

You and I had an issue a short while ago, however that is past and gone.
What you say above is spot on, I always try to put myself in the position of housemates, I also do accept the house is a strange place and alters behaviour and maybe even personality at times too.
However, one thing that would always be in my mind, would be the public watching everything,if this was the first few series of BB fair enough but it has been on for 16 years now, those who go in, know sort of what it is like.
Then I would be aware my Family, Parents, Brothers,Grandparents if I had any and Friends and neighbours would also likely be watching.
For those reasons I would ensure, I did nothing to embarrass them as to my overall behaviour.
If Stephanie had been a Cousin or even just a Friend of mine, I would be totally ashamed of her behaviour in the house.
She didn't just publicly humiliate her live in boyfriend of a year, she rubbed salt into any of the wounds by constantly getting into bed with Jeremy on TV.
Anyone in a relationship who had a partner going into BB,who they believed they were going to have a life with in the future, would feel mad and disgusted at that Partner had they behaved so insensitively and disgracefully like Stephanie has.
I agree with Daniella, she has asked for all she is getting from others, whose own behaviour have at times been unacceptable but not totally lacking in dignity and decency such as has Stephanie's been.
I hate showmances with a passion anyway on BB but this one lacks any level of decency to it whatsoever in my view.
If I had acted like Stephanie in any avenue of life, I doubt I would even want to face my family again on coming out or back.
I hope, and feel sure I would actually feel thoroughly ashamed of myself.

He did more or less tell her to reign it in a hit, telling her that we see everything, not that she took much notice:laugh:
...and that's Stephs biggest downfall. People rally round her and give her good honest advice..and Daniella was one of those, then she totally disrespects them and goes back to doing what she wants to do.
Of course her Dad said he was proud of her..that's what dads do. She hasn't committed a crime. However he asked her to not do anything stupid (or words to that effect regarding under the cover antics with Jeremy)...and what does she do she goes under those covers for a massive grope. All she took from that call was that 'her dad was proud'...she completely disrespected her dads wise words and she has done the same with the housemates...and the boyfriend. She has mugged them all off because Steph only cares and thinks about herself....
Selfish bitch..ME ME ME...the girl just won't listen and she refuses to see it because all she cares about is HERSELF.

I thought a similar thing when I watched it. I know they're probably told that they can't say certain things by production staff, but if it was someone I loved, I don't think I'd be able to stop myself from shouting 'get the hell out of there' or something  He's her dad and he's watching her ruin her reputation and career and she doesn't have any awareness of this. I think she needs tough love.

The sad thing is, neither she nor Jeremy are kids.

I think if it was my kid I would have said I love him/her but that we see everything and that he/she needs to have a think about what she wants people to see and remember her doing. That's probably the most tactful you could be in the circumstances without getting her home and telling her some home truths. Unfortunately at this age you can advise but they are adults and you really can't control what they do. Stephanie is a train wreck. She clearly hears what she wants to hear and it must be nightmare trying to get some sense in her. Her parents must be worried sick.
I have a son of a similar age who is off travelling the world and watching young people like this make me grateful every day for the nice, centred, smart young man I raised. I can only say things like 'Please don't tell me you are going to jump out of a plane for fun until after you've done it as I don't want to think about it, thanks!' I can't say 'Don't do it!'.
