Wedding films generally are awfully cringe.

I agree, but it's not a typical wedding film

I enjoyed Muriel's Wedding, but it's not in the same league as films such as Casablanca, Chinatown, and Citizen Kane and the like in my opinion. I think 'V for Vendetta is a brilliantly ingenious film, and the new Tom Hardy Kray film 'Legend' is so skilfully written using three strands of parallel plotting - really clever.

I can't agree with any of that. The best film ever made is "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2". The subtle highs and lows of bittersweet comedy, the flawless writing, the razor sharp acting, the pinpoint precision of social commentary... It is as close to perfection as the film industry will likely ever achieve. Since that movie, all other supposedly "classic" cinema leaves me with an almost unbearable ennui.

:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2: THIS POST = Razor sharp wit. Pinpoint satire. Another classic ToySoldierism for my private collection.

(Weirdly - I only re-watched that film two days ago.)
