Watched it for the first time tonight. I had previously read that Sam got death threats after his appearance on the show so was expecting him to be really awful.

All it seemed like to me though was that he just didn't fancy the girl at all and as such didn't feign much interest in her.

Yes he came across a bit shallow in some of his comments in the sections where it was just him being asked question on his own separate from the date, but apart from the date being very boring and all don't really know what all the hype was about?

They were just polar opposites. She was constantly giggly, girly, cheery and upbeat and wanted to be treated like an absolute princess, he was so laid back he was practically horizontal and seemed to have a more chilled out vibe going on. He seemed to find her just as equally boring as she found him.

I did not find him likeable from watching the show but only because he seemed very boring and a bit shallow. I don't have a problem at all with him wanting to go halves on the bill though. Apparently it cost 350 pound!

That's been edited to make it look less unfriendly.....it's still clear he's arrogant and dull but the level of his arrogant is no longer so apparent....it's been polished up....I guess if he received death threats they had to modify the original edit before reshowing it.
All 4 series of First Dates are on chan 4 catch up but his episode appeared to have been removed till it was reshown last night.

Imagine a male model asking someone what they think is more important, good looks or personality, oh my god. Then, even more conceited, have him clearly take offence when you don't indulge his arrogance by saying looks are not more important. It was announced as he arrived that he's unlucky in love and we're given the impression that women never see past his image, here was a girl that didn't only value guys on their looks and he couldn't bear it......probably because he has no back up plan because he has no personality.

Yep agree with that, that girl seemed annoying as **** as well and really sexist lol (although not as bad as the first girl on the show)
