He had a kid with Suzanne Shaw and then left her on Mother's Day, saying "I don't do family"
He left her penniless with £200,000 debt. She couldn't even afford to eat.
There is no way such a nasty guy can be winner of BB.

I believe people can change....and I like to try and judge the housemate for how they acted in the house not out of it. It's not easy to do, tbh. :)
Darren shouldn't win because he was an housemate that brought nothing to the house...he could have been invisible. He shouldn't lose because of his past.

I didn't know that. I agree that he should not win if he left someone in those dire straits...not a very savoury history. People can change but the facts can't.

That OP was more interesting than his entire existence in the house has been. That's why he shouldn't win, not for irrelevant crap from the past
He doesn't sound a very nice person, but that can be said for most in there. But aren't viewers going to judge them on entertainment value in the house not outside if they are paying to save or evict them? If it was about them based just on outside the house, then what would be the whole point of CBB?

Not sure I believe people do BB to prove they have changed. It's usually because their careers are flagging...

Or for some, upcoming books, albums, or tours to promote.

Yes that is definitely true and I hope Suzanne and Corey's lives have been turned around by the diligence and hard work of Suzanne.

Suzanne seems a lovely person, I remember her on Dancing On Ice, she was my favourite that series.

What a pointless post, everyone knows about his past, he hasnt tried to hide it, and has turned his life around. Also Suzanne Shaw was with someone at the time they met, so shes not that innocent she also sold a lot of stories about it to the papers, no doubt they paid her well.
Sometimes people do just deserve a second chance.

I think her history is far more appealing than the reformed Mr Day. If he left his child I am not entirely sure how he can ever come back from that unless he fully supports the little boy...This does not appear to be the case though.

He hasn't "turned his life around" at all. He spent his life up until his forties cheating on women and generally crapping on them. Now he is 46 he realises that he can't do that anymore and has to settle down. If he was the big star he could have been then he would probably still be doing it.

How else is she going to cover the massive debt he left her in.

Bit odd how stuff from outside the house mattered so much when it came to Winston but doesn't when it comes to Darren.
Call me old fashioned but I would say what Darren did personally to a girl like Suzanne Shaw is far worse than Winston daring to have an opinion on gay adoption.
He also used to be a drug addict. People change.
I believe people can change....and I like to try and judge the housemate for how they acted in the house not out of it. It's not easy to do, tbh. :)

..yeah this really for me as well, he said that he was there/he and Daniella to 'change public perception' but how has he done that, proved that he could go into a the BB house and be faithful to his wife...?.....I mean, that was and has been his public perception...his cheating ways as they say and his drug past but he was hardly going to be taking drugs in there either so..(not that I think he still does..)...but his time in there hasn't made sense to me in what he wanted and was hoping to achieve..I think that he's been too afraid of putting a foot wrong, that he just hasn't even put a foot at all with that fear and given nothing at all/I do understand why he has done that though because the last thing that he would want is to get involved in stuff and it possibly go horrible wrong, so that the public thought that he was an idiot...
...the only thing that I would refer to or consider his past with though..(because for me it is relevant..)..is his reactions to Tiffany flirting with him etc...I don't believe someone with his history and experience would be in the slightest bit phased by something like that, so I do think he's 'hammed up' the I've changed so much bit and in doing so, tried to make her look bad...the same with John as well to be fair with it...his oh, I'm soooooooooo soooooooooooooo hurt that you nominated me, cut right through my heart and soul..I think that was very contrived in it's OTT as well and obviously made John look bad..I didn't see it at the time because it was the first reveal of his 'game-plan'..not that I think those parts were pre-thought out in game plan probably, but I think that he's taken full advantage of them..so I guess that he's given us a little something with that but just not very much and certainly not enough to win...who is Darren Day..?.../I have no idea who he is/non the wiser really from his stay in the house....
..oh btw, just for the OP...didn't he also buy an engagement ring for one of his girlfriends one time and then gave it to another girlfriend instead..?......see, the life he has led, I can't see in any way his 'shock' and awkwardness over Tiffany, that's ridiculous and that's where it has become relevant for me...

Drugs change a person. He knows he was a muppet. He has fought his addictions and now seems to be a lovely family man. It happens. My BF would be hung drawn and quartered if people knew what he'd done in the past (and what he'd lost). People change. Sometimes (actually, that's probably more of a 'usually' than 'sometimes') it takes until their 40s. C'est la vie. I hope he does well.

Lovely man, who mades mistakes but as now put them right ,and has always admitted he's made mistakes
He bought an engagement ring for Anna Friel but ran off with Tracy Shaw and gave it to her instead
...I thought there was something like that, that he'd bought a ring for someone and then given it to someone else...Anna Friel (I think..)..ended their relationship, not him that time but I wouldn't personally want a ring bought for someone else...

To be fair this is only the story according to the press. On the show he told Stephanie they had a wonderful son together but that they had both been with other people when they got together and the relationship was outed buy the press bugging his phone and with what sounds tantamount to blackmail, then it didn't work out. Probably without the press forcoing IIT they may have only had an affair and returned t partners. We aren't flies on the wall in their relationships and its not like the press dont lie. Also people on drugs and alcoholics do act in ways that person never would without the addiction.

Interesting points...and I agree.
Did you notice his demeanor when Stephanie asked to borrow the jumper? He didn't hesitate or flinch, but said 'of course'...he looked happy and not bothered at all. He looked and acted normal. Then he walks into the kitchen and upon seeing Scotty and John, he immediately goes into his act. His whole face changes and he meekly (and without any conviction) says "Oh No"over and over again until they ask him what's wrong. He then goes on to a display of such utter nonsense, it reminded me of new drama students doing some bad exercises.
It made me think that he's been playing the whole meek and mild 'innocent' game to get the public to change their opinions of him. He's not been himself in there at all.

Forgiveness is one of the most powerful forms of love and everybody deserves some. Even Darren Day.
But talk about dismissing the truth to the dust heap of nothingness??!!
Darren's version is also very dismissive but stills sounds like he used Suzanne to fix and run.
