Obamas inauguration speech is the single greatest speech in my lifetime
It was simply phenomenal
The way he included everyone, the way he incorporated martin luther kings words, the way he put history into perspective, the way he promised a better tomorrow, the way he put the onus on the people and not himself

I feel he HAS delivered

without going into tedious detail....unemployment has halved, small businesses have grown, tariffs have been raised on the Chinese, 100s of thousands of jobs moved from the state to the private, energy costs have collapsed as fracking has been an enormous success, hes fought for umpteen green deals, hes created a type health service that covers all the poorest people too..renewed stem cell research, allowed gay marriage,..hes taken out bin laden , ghadaffi, and umpteen other terrorist leaders...But he has done that without stoking up more hatred with inflammatory language....hes tried his utmost to tighten gun laws and hopefully will succeed with at least some tighter laws.....

The critics will scoff

He hasn't brought down the debt....ok but the deficit is down so as gdp has grown and unemployment halved will in time help pay the debts.

He has also reduced the military budget which will also reduce the debt.

He has agreed a massive nuclear disarmarmourment deal with the ruskies and others. He has given up on a Europe wide missile defence system, that may be seen as a mistake by some , but a plus by others at is shows his loosen of the grip on American worldwide dominance. The iran deal is also the real deal. we know do business with the Iranians as sanctions are lifted as their nuclear proliferation is curbed.

people talk up putin, but the Russian economy is going down the plughole and soon, the americans will even take over the energy market due to their fracking...fracking plus the trillions Obama has pumped into green energy development and the industrial manufacturing base and roads and infrastructure and technology will see America become somewhat less dependent on foreign oil

Obama has hammered the corrupt banks and the corrupt housing and energy corporations too (like BP, goldman sachs etc)...record fines adding up to hundreds of billions


He's not impervious to mistakes, some projects were wasteful, he has also failed to really redistribute wealth overall. Yes the us stock market has doubled under his leadership (though that's a bit artificial with the trillions pumped into it) Benghazi was a right cock up, the rise of ISIS. Perhaps it was due to his weak leadership at times that they were allowed the thrive. Maybe it was simply a massive vacuum left from all the deposed leaders and the war wongers selling weapons to both sides. I do think Syria is obamas worst event. He has tried to take some refugees. he has pumped us money into building infrastructure. Perhaps this is now the beginning of the end of the poison but that's so hard so say. these wars have run for centuries. terrorism has always existed.blair and bush made everything 100 times worse, Obama was left with unwinnable wars and the biggest economic catastrophe in 90 years.....people will also point at obamas use of drones. They frighten me to be honest. Theyre being used above the law. |But again to walk in an American presidents shoes he is left with impossible quandaries unimaginable to the common person. sometimes no matter what he does, people will die. he has to choose the best case scenario in lmited timescales under enormous [pressure

To actually go from that situation and pump trillions into health for the poor, turning industrial giants like general motors back into the worlds number 1 and invest in fracking, green energy, was phenomenally brave and inspired

I agree with you Kizzy. Its interesting how Obama had dabbled with socialism throughout his presidency. He's no Leninist but he's followed and dabbled with parts of Marxist philosophy. The worrying thing is, socialism and fascism are close cousins (meaning its easy to turn socialist policy into fascist policy) and any up and coming Conservative that chooses to ride on the back of Obamas policies, which they seem keen to do, could move this into something very different than what it presently is.
