What are your thoughts on this?
There has been a lot of bodies pulled from the canal over the last 11 years 85 to be exact most of them thought to be men.
There are rumours that they are Gay men and being lured to the canal for shenanigans but when they get they are pushed in and killed.
The police are refusing to believe their is a serial killer and the deaths are just drunken accidents but are they right? There has been 85 bodies pulled from the Canal with 28 cases returning a open verdict mean their deaths are a open mystery.

There was a documentary recently about this. They concluded it wasn't a serial killer. I'm not too sure. There certainly have been a lot just lately, one just last week. 85 have died in 7 years in the canal.

85 in 7 years seems like a lot alright. Was there any cases of people claiming they'd been pushed in but survived i wonder? With that volume you'd think that one might get away?

That is were I got the idea from for the thread.
I think it's a serial killer because of the amount of deaths and the fact some have gone unexplained

One case the boy was on the phone to his parents and they heard him scream and they said it sounding like he saw something scary and that was the last they heard of him

They took it as a bit of comfort knowing they were the last people he spoke too but I would hate to be in their shoes.

Also one of the boys was spotted with a random man who has never been identified

It's difficult to say really, It's possible of course but I'm not sure it's likely that someone could go so long without drawing attention to themselves if they're killing people in public like that.

I'd like to watch that documentary now though, Making a Murder has kind of sparked my interest in true crime stories  It drives me crazy when i don't get the truth at the end of it though

I 've thought the same thing with Bath - there have been several men drowned there also , nowhere near as many as Manchester but i must say i do think it looks like someone is pushing these people into the water, i just don't think this amount of people accidentally topple in ! as with Manchester there is no solid proof, so stay away from canal towpaths chaps.

Can none of these men swim? or are they unconscious before hitting the water ? and if so, how did they become unconscious?
