View Full Version : Which series would have been better with a different voting format?

So which VTE series would have worked better with VTS and which VTS series would have worked better with VTE?
BB14 would have probably worked somewhat better with VTS, as Dexter would have gone over Gina/Sallie and we would have gotten more of the Sallie Axl experience :flutter: Imagine Gina/Sallie in the safe house :clap1:
BB15 would've been slightly better, because Marlon would have went over Toya and we would have seen ha iconic side we saw in her final week for longer. I'm not sure if they would do the most nominations = evicted twist and who would have gone though.
CBB15 would have been much better as a chill, maybe humorous series rather than Perez/Hopkins constantly arguing.

It's amazing the change of reality VTE/VTS has

Dexter wouldn't have gone on a VTS
Pete.

BB7 would have been even more amazing on a VTS mainly because Nikki would have stayed throughout and maybe won
Gina would have probably gone in the week 1 vote to save for BB14.
Pete.

Gina would have probably gone in the week 1 vote to save for BB14.
Still think Sal would have gone

Gina/Sallie were in top 5 in most of favourite polls, Dexter was in like bottom three
Still think Sal would have gone
Sallie was literally the focus of every highlight show she was in.
I know out of the 3 which one I'd have voted to save watching it live.

with Sallie close by? Dexter would have top the VTS vote. I remember Dexter suddenly being popular after the Sallie Vs Dexter

2. Sallie

Sallie would have been saved first, she was the most loved, yet most hated in the first five'ish days from what I recall

Casual viewers/voters would have voted Dexter over Sallie I think

BB16's eviction order, we wouldn't have lost goddesses like Adjoa/Amy and Sally/Jade so early </3
Dominic

Can we discuss Marlon going over Toya instead
I'm obviously relieved Gina didn't go because she was the star and Sallie would have probably declined in popularity and gone a few weeks later anyway whereas Gina grew.

Marq would have been in the finale dew
We got a vote to save in BB15 and the most entertaining housemate nominated still went so

who cares about biannca pav and zoe anyways
People like Steven would have lasted longer too probably
(I know he only went like 3 weeks before the end but still)

Amy and Sally would still go on VTS on the 4in4out tbh. Danny and someone else would have stayed, maybe Chloe (same result really)

during a VTS head to head, they just vote to save the other one who they don't want evicted so I don't think that would've been the result

I was thinking of BB13 bc of Conor going, but VTE the whole series would have resulted in Lydia going week 1 and Deana going before the finale </3
Mess Toya got evicted so early I always think of her as being the week 4/5 boot it felt like she was there for ages
a) Dexter would have gone in a VTS
b) Danny and Harriet would have stayed had #4in4out been VTS - just as well that it wasn't
c) Shievonne would still have gone under VTE, given that head-to-heads under either format are pretty much the same
LukeB

a) Dexter would have gone in a VTS
No he wouldn't, Dexter would have topped the vote, because he got popular that week and he would have got the anti Sallie votes.
He wasn't popular when he was up - the show was revolving around Sallie and Gina at that point, he was irrelevant

I think all the C4 series would've been improved with VTS except the head-to-head evictions since they wouldn't have made a difference.
BB11 could've been a top tier series with VTS. Same goes for BB15.
I know lots of people prefer VTE and say "oh but VTE gave us the best series ever" etc. but I counter-act that by saying
A) C4 casting was much better than C5 casting so it meant we could afford to lose some good characters to VTE and still have a good series
B) VTS hasn't been given a long enough trial with the civillian series. We had one awful season and one amazing season. It really should be, at the very east, trialled again
C) Yes VTE can get rid of the "nasty" people but it can also get rid of the "entertaining people" as well. I'd rather watch a series where I love a few of the housemates left and hate a few of the housemates left rather than a series where I feel indifferent towards/have no opinion on any of the people remaining.

Conor would've went in a VTE against Shievonne
I actually don't think he would've tbh. Shievonne had one of the worst edits I've ever seen in her final week and Conor wasn't getting much airtime. Plus she is an "angry black woman" which is a BB sin. And Conor had all his teen girl fanbase too.
Head-to-head VTS evictions are basically reverse VTE anyway

Have to say I agree with this tbh. The only flaws about VTS were keeping Conor, Perez and Hopkins. But other than that I always enjoyed VTS. Obviously I didn't like results such as Frenchy going but it was obvious.

I think if #4in4out would've been VTS we'd have seen Sarah and Harriet/Danny stay. Chloe, Kieran and Amy and Sally would have all gone for sure I think.
Also I think had BB14 been VTE, Sallie would've stayed in the first week. Which would've been amazing and made BB14 even better than it already is.

Nah, I think Sarah would've benefited more in a VTS than Harriet. Sarah was more popular. I remember Harriet's popularity plummeting quite quickly after the first week and she went from being Top 3 in popularity polls to bottom two within the space of a week and she lost quite a lot of support.

If it was VTS and the safe HM's remained safe, and the nommed ones remained nominated Jade and Eileen/one of the guys would have stayed, resulting in 3 dullards going

All C5 series with any kind of regular nomination format would have been spectacularly improved.
Big Brother works because even producers didn't know from week to week how things would pan out, but blatantly fixing the nomination process every single week to protect your favourites, and then editing the show around the same few HMs for practically the entire series, just makes it boring and gives you a series where people don't care about evictions (because the evictees have been practically edited out of the show) and get bored of the highlights as they focus on the same people and storylines day after day, week after week. In addition being nominated means very little when producers have decided tp put up the majority of the house based on their rules for the week - the HMs nominated for eviction should be in the minority!
The last eviction of CBB highlighted the point - for the first time since I think 2014 they used the traditional two with the most votes is up for eviction (although with the twist of an added "killer nomination") and it resulted in a big head to head between three dominant characters. That made the eviction interesting, unlike those where there were six up - or where the likely evictees who should have been up had been protected by producer intervention.
