Token gay characters

As part of a University assignment I'm doing I need to find some token gay characters to discuss.

Surprisingly it's easy to find good portrayals of LGBT characters but I'm struggling to find any stereotypical ones.

They need to be from a British television drama series (not comedy).

Any suggestions?

Coronation street, Sean, Sophie, The new girl in the factory and her girlfriend, theres loads in all the soaps, Emmerdale Aaron and Robert. Eastenders Ben Mitchel, Sonya and her girlfriend.

I settled on a character from Casualty lol since I watch that and knew a bit about him.

Thanks for your help though, but this basically proves the point I'm trying to make that there's very little representation for anyone who isn't white or straight in actual dramas. Gay characters seem to appear in comedies or soaps.
