Both are the two most highest rated series of BBUK - averaging over 5m. And are both considered successful series. But out of the two, which one do you prefer?

BB5 for me. Although BB3 is great too.

5 by quite some distance. Loved both at the time though.

They're both strong series, BB5 seems like it's gonna give me more iconic Housemates and a better final two so I'm voting for BB5.

BB5 is superior to BB7 imo.

^100% agree. BB5, like BB6 was entertaining from the first to last day. BB7 simply wasn't.

I adored BB7 though

The atmosphere, housemates, theme, content, house was all on point

BB3 looks like it's gonna end better than BB7 too imo.

Yes BB7 may have individually bigger characters than BB3, but a lot of them was god damn irritating and unlikable, I'd take a Gun to my head before cheering on people like Richard, Nikki, and Aisleyne, then the pathetic bores that was around once Lea was evicted was enough to prove to me that I couldn't watch the series any longer.

And it shows you how worried the production was about BB7 that for the first time ever at that point they threw in a load of newcomers just to distract away from what the public had left us with.

@Pete I like BB7 too. It's a top-three series. But it had more filler housemates and there were some stages where it dipped in quality majorly (namely post-Week 6-8) and had to rely on the twist side things in order to keep it interesting (see Week 12).

BB5 didn't have a dull housemate and the house dynamics were far more interesting than that of BB7's. I loved the concept and theme of 'Big Brother Goes Evil' and the darker and sinister tone of it all. And the tasks were brilliant. I will admit, BB7 had the hype and atmosphere thing going for it as did CBB4 - 2006 defined the peak of Big Brother.

I agree, but you can't deny there were a lot of ****ty HMs and that it became uneventful towards the end.

I remember the middle bits of BB7 being eventful, but it just depends on who your faves are, Susie and Jennie had more airtime for example.

Susie is the star of mid-BB7

I loved them both hunni but two people can't carry the show </3 Week 11 was awful, and Week 12 (apart from when the newbies came back in). But twists don't make a series great.

It's a hard one because they're both iconic for different reasons, but BB5 by a whisker. I don't really know why I just thought if I was going to rewatch one, which one would it be
