It's to do with the how long it takes the earth to orbit the sun I'm sure.

No it's just one Monday. Then the 1st March will be Tuesday.

Ive not seen that film. But no it's not an eclipse. It's just there is actually more than 365 days in a year it's like 365.42524283 days or something and all the decimal points add up so they make an extra day every 4 years to account for it.

If they didn't it would totally mess up the seasons and stuff.

the earth spins the opposite way for 1 day which is why the year is a day longer
