Why should she apolgoise for something she didn't mean in a racist way?

If she didn't mean it racst, she has nothing to apologise for.

Who actually expected an apololgy from her? Shes far to weak a person to admit to something she did wrong. Let her crawl back under the stone that she belongs.

So what? She doesn't have to prove anything. She's an adult isn't she?

She also doesn't think that she was being racist or being a bully, she said that Shilpa annoyed her.

The Sun is on going what was said in the interview. It doesn't have seem to have talked to her.

The Daily Star has an exclusive interview in todays paper where she does sort of apologise for her time in the house in a round about way.

“I’m sorry if I have offended people, but I am just proud of myself for staying in there and not walking out.”

Even if it wasnt racist behaviour, it was still deplorable, and the three of them should be ashamed and embarrassed.

Still, Jo has no career to worry about- its back to the fruit machines to waste the rest of the money she earned from S Club 7.

She should still apoligize for the bullying! Even if she didn't MEAN to hurt Shilpa, she still did and should feel a little bit sorry for coming across that way (even if she didn't intend to come across that way!)

I'm sorry but do you even watch Big Brother?

Jo would be the first person to admit if she had done something wrong and she is not the type of person to care so much about what people think of her to admit to something she is not guilty for.

Seriously... why does Jo need to apologise? She has done absolutely nothing wrong. Did we make Pete Burns apologise to the country? No.
Did we make Micheal Barrymore apologise to the public? No.
Did we make Victor/Jason/Emma/Nadia/Macro/Shell apologise? Nope, we sure didn't. Why is this Big Brother so different?

Well clearly she isn't the first person to admit if she has done something wrong. She might not have been racist, but she was certainly bitchy, spiteful and cruel.

As for not caring what people think - she seemed to care A LOT about what the crowd thought.

It is complete nonesense to expect a contestant to apologise for being a typical BB contestant. BB would sink without trace if their were no bad behavour from housemates. Past BB housemates from normal BB and celebrity BB have not apologised so why should Jo!!!!

In the case of Jade where her behavour and bully type argumenting went well over the top of acceptability well she did apologise and rightly so,,,

Average bitching behavour housemates should not grovel to public opinion demanding humilation from a housemate just for the pleasure of seing them squirm. Such a demand would be equvilant to bullying contestants.......Two wrongs do not make a right.......

Ruth

It wasn't average bitching behaviour though at all. It also went way over the top of acceptability.

Not at all. Just common sense. She knows how the press like to twist words for sensationalism to increase circulation figures.

That was the wisest decision under the circumstances of a public and media witch hunt and bullying exercise.....

The way some people talk, it's as if bitching - bad-mouthing someone behind their back - or direct verbal abuse is normal, everyday behavour to be encouraged even!

And I agree it's definately been at its worst this series.

Pete Burns should have apologised for the Traci Bingham incident, anyway.

Yes, just because people have not been made to apologise in the past does not mean that nobody should ever have to apologise again.

And I agree that Pete Burn should have been made to apologise for the way he attacked Traci.

So you think he should be made to apologize? Says it all really. I think you should know we don't live in a fascist state. No-one should made to do anything, and who are we to impose our morals on others? It's really annoying.

James

He shouldn't be made to apologise (that's what happened with Jade). But it might improve the public's opinion of him if he did.

I don't think those that impose an anti-bullying morality on bullies have anything apologise for .

its common sense. i mean, if someone was bad mouthing your family or friends (just because they dont get on with them), is that a reason to bitch, bad mouth behind their back or verbally abuse them?

no.

i for one have better things to do with my time. if the shoe was on the other foot, jo would have plenty to say! & she said she was bullied in school, yeah right! if she was, you thought she would have learned something. clearly not!!! its all about respect...

Sying someone deserved to be bullied is pathetic and iggnorant let alone disturbing.

Jo O'Meara has refused to apologise for her part in the Celebrity Big Brother racism row.

The former S Club 7 singer has insisted that she doesn't regret any of her behaviour in the house and blamed show producers for editing her unfairly.

"I am not a racist and I am not a bully. I was bullied a lot at school and I hate bullies. It made me bulimic. I can't say sorry for something I'm not guilty of," Jo told the Sunday Mirror. "If I went back in there then I'd say it all again. I wouldn't change a thing from my BB experience, even now, because I know the truth. Big Brother has shown me unfairly. They have not shown me as I am.

"I was myself in the house, absolutely. But BB seems to have chosen all the bad bits. Everyone now thinks I'm a Fag-Ash Lil who hangs around in my dressing gown all day with unwashed hair - but it's not true."

The 27-year-old also criticised host Davina McCall for giving her a harder time than Jade Goody in her exit interview.

"Compared to Jade, I got the Spanish Inquisition," she complained. "I guess Big Brother told her to give me a rough ride. She gave Jade an easier time and that's not fair. I've just learned that Davina and Jade share the same agent, so I can see why some people might think she got an easier ride."

Jo also refused to follow in Jade's footsteps by donating the fee for her newspaper interview to charity: "I don't feel the need to do that. I have done nothing wrong."

i think jo got an easy ride from davina.. but to be fair jo was only guilty of laughing with jade at shilpa.. so i don't know whether she is racist or a bully, although in my eyes jo was part of the bullying pack, just by egging jade on..

SiMoN!

Well done Jo for not doing what people want her to and say sorry, why should she just because jade did. She has nothing to be sorry for in my eyes. Unlike jade she has come out and explained her self I think (in the Sundays papers)
She could have easily come out started crying and said sorry. But then most people would have said she is doing for herself. But this shows that she had no plain of starting her solo career
I agree with her that Divina give her a harder time then Jade. She wouldn’t let Jo really talk and she was trying to make her say sorry.
So I say well done to Jo for not going out and crying and saying sorry.

Well she said 'all Indians are skinny because they get sick though eating undercooked food', mocked Shilpa's Indian accent and to me it was obviously bullying,

Jade only said sorry because her 'career' is on the line. Jo? No career, no apology.

Thanks for those links James.
She was horrible IMO, and a real disappointment as it ruined my S Club views.
Anyway, I honestly feel that whatever non-existent career she had after S Club is now truly over, and it's only going to get worse (if that's possible) if she keeps defending herself. Jade obviously had better advice - she apologised straight-out.

She's made a fool of herself by trying to claim there was nothing wrong.
If there was nothing wrong then why did she not turn up to the press conference or the final.

She's disgraced her family. If she were my daughter I'd probably take a horsewhip to her. It's something when even her cousins are saying it was racist.

I genuinely fear for her safety. She reminds me of Grace who was also completely unrepented. Remember what happened to Grace when a few girls saw her in the street? I genuinely fear that the same fate awaits Jo unless she starts to back down and admit her mistakes.
