Not sure if there's already a thread for this but is anybody else watching? It's excellent! The first episode was broadcast on Sunday and I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch.

It's about a girl (Ivy Moxam) who escapes her captor after having been held in a cellar for thirteen years. There's loads of twists and turns which make it really gripping, and interesting.

Watched the first episode, I'm addicted already, I have a feeling it ain't all so simple, I want to believe it's her but I have feeling she might be some sort of trick and that Ivy is still being held but idk :worry:

Didn't her DNA match though?

I think she agreed to run away with him and they were living as a couple then things went wrong and he wouldn't let her leave but then when she did she claimed he kidnapped her from day 1

Yeah I know, that's why I still have a feeling it's her, the only reason I'm doubtful is because the next time trailer suggests it's not

..oh I loved the second episode, I almost threw my laptop out of the window when I realised I couldn't watch the third one yet and I'd have to wait....what I loved about it, is how it's spun so many different stories in the second one..Tim's marriage/the return of her childhood best friend to the village/will she know something..?...as well as obviously, family complications/relationships and the police officers who are central to it as well/just so much..I'm thinking this is more than Stockholme Syndrome but I won't tell you my theory because I always have a theory.....

..I hadn't realised that there were two threads going with this so I'll reply in this original one, Niamh...episodes 1 and 2 are both on BBC3 Iplayer to watch now, I think the second episode might air on TV on Sunday though...I can't wait for episode 3, I'm totally hooked...

I'm totally hooked as well one of the best dramas in a long time. And there's still a lot to the story that we don't know

Did she get kidnapped again D: I think maybe there could of been some odd romance between Ivy and her kidnapper, I also think maybe the other girl who has been taken is there daughter

..she was obviously pregnant at some point/I think that was mentioned..?...when she didn't need to eat fish anymore but he had given her fish for the nutrients..hmmmm, but I'm thinking that she may not have escaped at all and that the kidnapping of the second girl may have been planned by both of them...

IT'S SO GOOD, I don't usually like British dramas but the storyline sounded really interesting so I gave it a go and I absolutely love it, can't wait till the next ep

...this really is BBC drama at it's best...I watched episode 4 yesterday and it didn't disappoint at all...Jodie Comer is such a good actress and perfect as Ivy..she's vulnerable and yet has a slight coldness about her as well, which I think that being detached and insulated for thirteen years would give/she hasn't had to relate to others through her adult life...everything about this series is so absorbing, the dynamics of the family and how having her back after so long would be just as difficult as losing her....

Watched the first episode of this when it came out. It looked but never got round to watching the other two.

Has there been three or four episodes so far? There are four episodes up on iplayer but my Tivo has only recorded three?

It's really gripping, because it's always making you change your perceptions on certain people. Constant plot twists, turning points etc.

It's only five episodes long, the last episode airs this Sunday and I'm not quite sure how they're going to be able to tie everything up so quickly, but I'm hoping the ending is sufficient.

So with that ending I imagine

It was Ivy who killed Mark's brother after all? There was a big deal made about how Ivy wouldn't have been strong enough to kill him but at the end she showed some serious strength. Perhaps Ivy is more menacing than once thought?

They said before that she was the one that killed him, but he forced her to do it or something like that.

..finally meeting Mark White and seeing the control he had over Ivy and with the ending, it was all so tense...I kind of thought that there wouldn't be any bullets in the gun but still shouted OMG when there wasn't..:worry:..I thought the ending was perfect with so many questions about the family still to be answered..it's a perfect series for me when it leaves you like that/leaves you so absorbed in the characters that you just want to carry on watching them and how their lives go...Jodie Comer was perfect as Ivy....vulnerable but with a real strength...
