The Jump has been marred with injuries throughout the latest season, and now it’s finally getting the axe.

According to The Sun, Channel 4 plan to cancel the winter sports show because of falling viewing figures.

‘The feeling among the show team is that this has been the worst series yet,’ a show source claimed. ‘After so many injuries, the celebrities are terrified of everything — and then the viewer ratings have fallen off a massive cliff. Yes, there has been a lot of controversy about people getting injured, but that isn’t the problem. At the end of the day, this comes down to business.

‘The show is just not pulling in the viewing figures to justify the huge amount being spent on it.’

The launch episode last month secured an audience of 2.3million with last week’s semi-final getting only 1.6million viewers.

A showspokesperson has denied the claims: ‘The Jump has been hugely successful, averaging over two million viewers. Last Sunday it helped Channel 4 to be the most watched commercial channel across the day.

‘It is categorically untrue to suggest the show has been axed.’

This season has seen Beth Tweddle, Rebecca Adlington and Tina Hobley sustain serious injuries and forcing them out of the competition.

The final tonight will see Ben Cohen, Tamara Beckwith, Sid Owen and Dean Cain compete to become the 2016 Jump champion.

I can't really say that I've got a strong opinion on this tbh. I'd like it to come back but I'd totally understand if they did axe it.

They ruined what could have been a really good show with way too much talking & not enough of the actual sports.
I just got really bored this series with Davina talking & talking with just a few races in between.
I'm not shocked they might axe it, how do they even get insurance for a show with so many injuries :shrug:

No one actually watches it do they??

Uhmm, maybe :whistle::unsure:

I like watching the C/Zelebs so desperate for attention and showing off, they are willing to risk some serious injuries, so for that reason alone I say let them carry on and don't axe it :laugh:

I have enjoyed it, so it would be a shame if the axed it, but i would understand the decision.

I agree with Marsh.

They just need to air the series everyday over one week like they did in the first two series instead of spreading it out over 6 weeks on just a Sunday - which is also probably the reason behind the numerous amount of celebrities dropping like flies (quite literally) due to injuries.
