Surely six skiers died Saturday when an avalanche in the Italian place Ahrntal came down. So far there are no indications that there are Dutch people in the drama are involved, reports the press officer of Foreign Affairs to the Telegraph

As possible even more people under snow mass, reported the Italian news agency Ansa. Rescue troops with sniffer dogs on the way to the area in South Tyrol.

Several skiers managed to free themselves from the snow drifts. Some of them are injured. The nationality of the victims is not yet known.

The avalanche made itself Saturday morning apart from the Monte Nevoso, which measures 3358 metres and is located in the Rieserfernergebergte

It was on Monte Nevoso in the Italian Alps close to the Austrian border.

Very sad news. This time of year starts to get seriously dodgy off piste.
