Opinions on BBCAN 1-3

I'm loving BBCAN4 (didn't expect to, I only started watching it because of Nikki lol but it's brilliant) so I'm wondering how it compares to the first 3.

If you've seen them, is 4 better/worse/different etc?

I've only watched the first but it was much better than four.

Apparently the general thought is 4 is the worst of the lot.

Far better than last season (which was good, but quite lacklustre compared to the first two) but not a patch on BB1 and 2

Season two is truly an amazing season, full of amazing drama and great gameplay, and a good storyline arc too. BB1's also amazing to see how the show finds its feet and has one of the best houseguests in international Big Brother history IMO. They are both must watches for any hardcore BB fans.

4 and it's not even close

Like, 3 has a few gems but it's far too messy and overall actually quite boring? By North American standards it's good but it's nothing special

I know 4's got off to a slow start but it seems to be picking up pace now and it has the inclusion of perhaps the best, most innovative twist in international Big Brother history in the form of Nikki and Tim so that already makes it better

I hate ranking because they all are good for their own reasons. I don't think 4 is trash either. Till this week it has been one of my favs

Season 1 has a wider approval rating across the forum...so if you are going to pick a season to watch... Start there
I was not a great fan of two...but the forum over all really liked it.
3 is one of my faves because of Britt... And because of the Canada votes twists that fell in her favour... But season 2 Canada votes did not go to my favourites... So there's that :hehe:

I'd say that all of them have something unique about them tbh. Amongst other reasons, I'd say that (I haven't seen all of it but) 1 is unique because it's the first season of the show, 2 is unique because it's the year that BBCAN went bigger and started experimenting with different twists, 3's unique because it's the first season on Global and 4's currently unique because of the international twist and the gameplay this season. BBCAN is always evolving and that's why it's currently ranked by most fans as the best version of Big Brother internationally.

I'm surprised that people aren't rating 4 very highly, so far for me it's on a par with some of the best UK series in terms of my enjoyment of it (but maybe that's due to the novelty of seeing a different format perhaps). Think I might have to watch the first 2.

The first two seasons are really great though. Full of drama, exciting gameplay and both have great casts. The third season is good but not great (the cast is nowhere near as good as the first two and there are less iconic moments) and would've been crap if they rig for Sarah & Brittnee :shame:

tbh the Kenny hate/love either way just baffles me, the guy was just ****ing ~there~ so how he incites so much discussion is beyond me, especially when people like Andrew and also Cuntbrina exist...like how do they get off scot free? At least you didn't declare your support for them :suspect:

There's weight to arguments that you should watch the big gun seasons of BBUS like 6, 10 and 11 first but what I think it does for a lot of people (not all) is put them in a place where they're more acquainted to modern day BBUS (or at least modern in terms of post-BB5, not what it's like today) and so when they watch the older classic seasons they think they're boring because of how different the pacing, editing and structure is. Which is a shame because there are some truly amazing gems and 2 through 6 into All Stars is a really enjoyable watch

Most of my Sabrina love came from after the First Five disbanded / when she became a meltdown-prone cockroach (although she was always my favourite of the First Five when the were in power)

She was definitely more tolerable in a haha let's laugh at you this is karma way after the power shift but she was still constantly nasty towards Heather and most of the other women all through jealousy on the feeds, day in, day out. And this was never shown on the episodes so people just don't know it happened. But trust me - it did.

Probably a lone opinion on here but I think BBCAN1 is overrated (still good tho). BBCAN2 is by far the best one for me.

1 is one of funniest seasons of reality TV I've seen and for that reason it's my favourite. There are hilarious characters and because it's the first season it's pretty messy. The finale is incredible and I hope it hasn't been spoiled for you.

2 in my opinion has possibly the most rootable alliance in reality TV history and has a brilliant story arc. If I was speaking objectively and truly considering all aspects it's probably the best season.

3 starts off a bit slow but it does pick up. Again it has a pretty decent story arc and some great characters and moments. It's not as good as the first two but it's a great season nonetheless. I'd still place it above every BBUS season after BB11.

4 so far I think is okay. It's really lacking in big characters and I'm basically just waiting for Nikki to win HoH.

LJ summed it up best as usual! BB1 is legitimately one of the funniest seasons of reality TV ever from start to finish and it's the perfect introductory piece to BBCan. Do *NOT* get spoiled whatever you do because the funale is a legitimately surreal experience.

BB2 is also very good and The People's favorite season. The start is a bit slow, but holistically it has the best and most satisfying narrative. A very good season, but the reason I don't like it as much as BB1 is because I didn't care AS much about the characters. There were definitely people to root for in BB2, but I loved my favorites from BB1 more and hated my least favorites from BB1 more.

BB3 is just okay. The opening weeks are atrocious (I feel like by this point it's commonplace to not judge a season until the rigging starts), but the season still ended up being alright. I don't understand the claims about how this season had the best gameplay because there were so many twists and so much rigging that it didn't even resemble a game of Big Brother :love: easily the weakest of the three, but it's still much better than most of the recent BBUS seasons alol.

BB4 is also firmly just okay. I'm not sure if it has to do with the move to Global or if the show has just gotten stale after the first two seasons, but there is a huuuuge gap in quality between BB1/2 & BB3/4. Again, the opening weeks haven't been too stellar and the cast is very vanilla and bland. The jury is still out since we're only like 35% through the season.

I've not seen 1 or 4, but this is my opinion of 2 and 3.

Series 2 - On paper a strong lineup, but the twist in week 5 killed the series imo (it's hard to go into if you haven't seen the series) but overall still a few strong moments that you will enjoy, and if you like the ones that go far (which tbh I struggled with most of them) then you'll be away.

Series 3 - Is a disgrace of a BB, the worst BB that I've probably ever seen, Showmance galore, annoying Housemates galore, and the production even allowed two Housemates to cheat at the HOH competition in week 4 I think it was.

Basically I'd check series 2 out but avoid 3.

I think the reason why people seem to not be enjoying this season as much as previous is due to messy editing and lack of continuity in terms of story arcs.
