My Brother wanted to sign up to the forum and when he logs in this message comes up

MySQL encountered the following error: Got error 'repetition-operator operand invalid' from regexp
In the following query: SELECT fid FROM bbf_forums WHERE status = 'on' AND (password='') AND private = 1 AND (userlist = '' OR userlist REGEXP '(^|(,))( )*\*$joshua$\*( )*((,)|$)')

What on earth does it mean!?

It just does the same thing everytime he tries to log in Red..Its rather confusing lol

It was the * $ characters in his username that was stopping it work. But he has signed up now I see with a different username.

Why are you not alowed $ ?

It can mess things up a bit with the forum. Actually it might be *$ together.
