Dermot O’Leary returns as host of The X Factor

The UK’s most talked about entertainment show is back. And today we can announce that show veteran and award winning presenter Dermot O’Leary is set to make a triumphant return to The X Factor 2016.

Having previously hosted the show for eight years, Dermot will once again be at the helm of the nation's favourite singing show, deftly keeping the judges in check and offering support and hugs to this year’s budding hopefuls.
Dermot O’Leary says, “I'm very flattered to be asked back to The X Factor, and am currently dusting off my dancing shoes. There is nothing more exciting than hosting live TV on a Saturday night.

The show is naturally very close to my heart, after having hosted it for 8 years. I'm really looking forward to it, and excited to be back”.

Simon Cowell adds, “Dermot's back! Hooray! And so is his dancing! Welcome home Dermot.”

Another favourite making a comeback for this year’s series are the intimate room auditions where aspiring stars will find themselves face to face in front of the judges in a very personal setting. If they impress three or more of the judges, they will move on to the next stage of the competition.

The X Factor returns later this year.

I'd love them to go back to the original format of Room Auditions > Judges Get Their Categories > Bootcamp is done separately for each category at each Judges' house/villa in the UK > Judges Houses done abroad > Live Shows

- His deal is reportedly worth £1.5m
- He's been said to have had some influence on the direction of the new series, including the return of the rooms
- Open auditions begin on 7th April in Glasgow, so we should see him on location soon

I don't know if I'd say the talent was good in the last series, but I will say that the more interesting acts/acts with an actual genre was removed by the time we'd reached the top 4, which compared to any other X Factor series there's always someone with a distinct sound at the top 4.

I agree with you on Seann though, he was my favourite in that series yet all people could go on about was his dress sense, and that he wasn't from the UK.
