I've always called it a Living Room, even though Sitting Room or Front Room are probably the more correct terms.

In the house I grew up in we had two rooms like that we called them The Sitting Room and The Dining Room

We have had a lounge (in Africa)
We have bad a parlour ( in Nana's house)
We have sat in a sitting room ( in sisters house)
we sit in the drawing room at S-I-L s

If we ever get a conservitory we will sit in the Orangery.:cheer2:
