When I first heard I did wonder if CBB was the 'beginning of the end' for him almost but it sounds like he's had health issues for a while. I also didn't know about this from the BBC article:

He had planned to tour the UK in July with his latest show, called the David Gest Is Not Dead But Alive With Soul Tour!

I'd say the only two celebrity deaths I felt REALLY affected by were MJ and him, probably because I subconsiously saw them both coming and also as I really looked up to David as a person and I'm not sure if there's anyone (famous) who I more respected their character!
