Strange things that make you sad

Obviously stories about abuse and people dying are sad, but is there anything weird that makes you sad?

I hate seeing old people sitting alone at a restaurant. It makes my heart hurt so much. I feel like joining them but I'd probably scare them or make them feel patronised which I wouldn't want.

Another thing that seriously breaks my heart is the thought of people being alone on their birthdays with no one to get them cake, presents or even a card. Like I get that some people dont care for that at all, and I understand that, but the thought of some people out there who would like at least a card but one get one makes me want to cry. I've always felt like that but I think it got so much worse when that man in the Spiderman films was like 'But it's my birthday' to his boss and his boss just laughed at him.

In TV Shows or Films when you see a character when they're younger and then seeing them when they're considerably older and some of the people that you got used to them hanging around have gone.:bawling:

In real life however it's got to be attention seekers, because they mustn't be very satisfied with their life if they're so obsessed with being in the limelight all of the time even if it's for selfish acts.

Untapped potential. Meeting or knowing someone who you know has the potential to be an amazing success and make something out of their lives, yet for whatever reason are unable to showcase to people just how good they are.
