Underwhelmed is a overstatement

She has two acting credits. One of those was an episode of Doctors. OK then...

she seems irritating.

I was hoping for Rakhee Thakrar but she seems really good from that little clip. Very different from Clara so I'm looking forward to seeing how her and Peter Capaldi interact.

I reserve judgement until I see her first episode. Nice that she's a woman of colour though!

Saw the clip on TV, excited for her! :)

Can't say I really care how much or little she's been in so far, it's not a prerequisite for the new companion to be played by a household name.

Tbf I was always going to be disappointed with anyone who was Rahkee

Hard to judge her straight away off a random clip. I was expecting someone well known considering the time slot for the announcement.

But, I do like that they seem to have gone back to a normal girl being introduced to the Doctor over a sassy, know-it-all with a mystery around them again.

I haven't paid attention to Doctor Who since Matt Smith's first series, but I actually really like this new companion from what I saw in the clip.

I like that she just seems like a normal, everyday-like character. I think Stephen Moffat has got too caught up with trying to make people like Amy, River Song and Clara far too complex. I loved the simplicity of Russell T Davies taking a normal person and having their life completely change by The Doctor, as oppose to having a character which The Doctor's world revolves around...if that makes sense.

I'm hopeful she's just a normal gal and not some big mystery

She looks older than Rose and Clara did when they joined. :joker:

I like her. She seems interesting.

This is why I like relatively unknown actors. I've never seen her in anything before so I have virtually no idea what she'll be like in the role... which is much more interesting to watch.

Definitely, I liked Clara and Amy, but the whole "most important person in the universe" gets tired after a while, lol.

Think she's alright, I just can't wait for them to get rid of Capaldi. Love him in anything else but under Moffat's writing :yuk: Pure cheese.

Marsh.

Doctor Who is pure cheese no matter who's writing or acting in it, let's be honest.

It was never as bad as this though. I thought it was supposed to be getting "darker" but it just seems even more like a children's show now.

Nothing Capaldi has been given to do has reached the cheese of Christopher Eccleston faking being strangled by a plastic arm or David Tennant's comedy moments tbh. As much as I loved them.

Meh, I thought she was irritating and that was only a tiny clip.

Rakhee > this mess.

Marsh.

I'll hold off. I remember everyone hating Catherine Tate at first because they found her irritating to the max then she became really popular. I'll wait to see how they actually establish the character.

This might be weird but she kinda looks like what would happen when if Rose and Mickey had a kid.

Happy with the decision that they decided to go for a generally unknown actress. Like with what Star Wars did with the new members of the Force Awakens cast like Rey and Finn.

Don't forget Mickey in the first ep when he was replaced by a Auron, Rose should've suspected something

I like her. Shame we're not going to actually see anything of her till Christmas though.

Rumour has it on DS that she won't actually be introduced until series 10. :omgno:

I can see Capaldi being solo in the Christmas Special then Bill being introduced next year.

Capaldi seems in character so I take it we're meant to assume she is "in character" too? :worry: She looks like a sketch show character. :omgno:
