Rylan and Laura Whitmore (or Rochelle Humes) to co-host The Xtra Factor?

Rylan Clark-Neal and Laura Whitmore are rumoured to be co-hosting the Xtra Factor this year.


The pair are the latest names tipped to be take over from Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom who haven't actually - officially at least - left yet.

Rochelle and Melvin revealed recently that they were being kept in the dark when it came to whether or not they'd be back for a second series this summer.

However it doesn't sound likely that we'll be seeing them on ITV2 later this year.

Now magazine reports that Rylan, who currently has his own chat show weeknights on Channel 5, and former I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now! host Laura are set to sign up.

"Bosses really want to sign Rylan," a source told the magazine this week. "He's a seasoned professional, funny, and could make the show come alive.

"He's got a lot going on with 'Big Brother' and his own show, but his friends think he'd be crazy to turn this down - he'd be an amazing asset to the show."

Laura recently quit I'm A Celebrity's spin-off show after five years, prompting rumours she was set to move over to the Xtra Factor.

"They'd be a brilliant duo and everyone thinks their on-screen chemistry would be great," the source added.

However a number of other names have also been rumoured, including Westlife's Nicky Byrne and radio DJ Roman Kemp.

The new series will air this autumn alongside the main show on ITV.

This wouldn't be so bad tbh. The only problem would be who Big Brother would choose to replace Rylan on BOTS.

He won't leave BOTS for Xtra Factor anyway. He's far too involved in BB to want to quit for a duo presenting job on The Xtra Factor where he'll probably get sacked after one series.

The travelling around might get in the way.

Dermot had to quit Little Brother for that reason and the Xtra Factor hosts feature in Xtra Factor far more than the main host features in the main show.

She was one of the "celebrity fans" on the clip show last year so I'd be suprised to hear that if she didn't like the show.

I was watching a Russell Howard show on Comedy Central it's a repeat but she was slagging off katie Hopkins and how people liked her after celebrity big brother and said that that's the problem with these kind of shows and I'm sure she said a few more negative things about it after that, can't really remember but I do like Katherine Ryan I can't imagine her being a good presenter though, she is a panellist standard to be honest

The Sun is now reporting that it's likely to be Rylan and Rochelle Humes.

But what a difference four years make.

After successes on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity MasterChef, stints on the This Morning sofa and now his own Channel 5 chat show, he could be heading back to where it all began.

I can reveal Rylan is in talks to host ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor — where bosses are set to bring back ROCHELLE HUMES but could axe MELVIN ODOOM in favour of Rylan.

It’s a huge turnaround for the flamboyant star, who has done the hard yards to prove himself as a genuine presenting talent.

And while he’s already the main man on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, Xtra Factor marks a step towards his big ambition.

He said in January: “My ultimate dream would be to present X Factor.

“To go from contestant to presenting would be a tick in my box.”

But landing the new role would give him major diary issues, with the show’s auditions landing bang in the middle of this summer’s Big Brother.

A source said: “It could be a situation where Rochelle covers auditions on her own in the way CAROLINE FLACK sometimes did when she was hosting with OLLY MURS.”

Last night an X Factor spokesman said: “No decisions have been taken.”

I have a feeling Rylan could bring something pretty special to the role.
