Yet again tonight the lowest placed team in play offs to reach final has beaten the highest - Barnsley #6 beat Walsall #3

This has occured in all the play offs now this season.

Championship - Sheffield Wednesday #6 beat Brighton #3 (15 points interior)
League 1 - Barnsley # 6 beat Walsall #3 (10 points inferior)
League 2 -AFC Wimbledon #7 beat Accrington #4 (10 points interior)
Non league National (play off final) Grimsby #4 beat Forest Green #2 (9 points interior)

Yes I get it the play offs are on big money spinner, and creates excitement in an otherwise dull season finale for teams placed around #5 -7 in table but it's really not fair and if a team can't finish in top 3 of current league it doesn't bode well for them in a higher league. Why should teams not good enough to win title get a nice day out at Wembly , the income and a trophy when the team who comes #2 and sometimes #3 (except for National League) just quietly gets an automatic promotion place?

Drew.

For the neutrals it's great, but having a team of yours involved in it its torture & so unfair if your team gets beaten by a team you finished miles ahead of in the league. As a Brighton fan I've had enough of it

All teams know the rules at the start of the season, and it's the same for everyone. You can't start complaining just because a certain team gets knocked out.

If the team wasn't good enough to win when the pressure game was on, then it's tough titty.

It favoured us once upon a time (which is a rare thing in Football as the Ref's hate us) so I like the play-off system.
