Should have ended with H20. Resurrection already ruined what was a great ending for the franchise.

:clap1:
Ressurection was disgusting. I like to pretend it doesn't exist and it ended with H20.
Oh I don't think it's a continuation of the remakes as John Carpenter said he didn't like where they went. He says they're taking it back to early on when Michael was just a killer not a character :clap1:
Jason.

I'm excited for this mainly because it's John Carpenter behind it all and not Rob Zombie. :clap2:
Praying this doesn't fall through.
I think JC is very particular about what he likes/dislikes and he'll probably leave the project if he doesn't like where it's going.

Here for it. Hope it's a reboot and not the third remake :clap1:
Didn't even realize there were that many Halloween films. I somehow doubt it will be "most terrifying" yet. I think it will be just like all the other sequels and be a pale shadow of the original. The original is better than all the rest put together.

This really.
I thought H20 ended it nicely so Laurie could live in peace. I actually don't even rate John Carpenter very highly anymore, the only thing he got right with The Ward was Amber Heard, the movie was cliché and dull.
Apparently it could be out by Halloween next year :clap1:

The second pic is just of Miles and Virgina as Dave and Vicky again
There’s two more teens cast, Dylan Arnold and Drew Schied but idk their character names yet
Emma Roberts and Lucy Hale both wanted to play Laurie’s granddaughter. I’m fuming they didn’t pick Emma!

I actually liked RZ's Halloween ll better than RZ's Halloween. The backstory part was awful and you could tell RZ thought it would make Michael scarier but it just didn't work for me.
Scout Taylor-Compton wasn't well cast as Laurie and Sheri Moon Zombie is embarrassing bad. Annie should have been the shock lead character.

I don’t even remember anything about Halloween 2 tbh. That’s how bad it was whereas the first one stayed true to the original minus a few differences and it also has the rewatchabillty factor.

OMG I just saw footage of the new movie, someone was live screening it on twitch. Might be from thecinemacon
A woman is in a public bathroom stall and you see a close up of Michaels new mask and he throws teeth covered in blood under the door and she screams. Apparently there is more but that was all that was shown the rest was Jurassic World!

Official plot
"A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac's night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.
"In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter's life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael's inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak)."

Much better than H20 and on par with the first two originals imo.

Halloween 5 was meant to be Jamie Lloyd carrying on Michael's legacy but they didn't want him killed off.
At the end of Halloween 2018 though there is heavy breathing implying Michael is alive.

This was okay but I don't feel like it added anything new as such, the characters didn't feel that developed and it was kind of just there. Struggling to see where all the praise is coming from and I love horror films! I guess it was an entertaining watch but nothing outstanding. When it ended I just sat and thought "eh, is that it?". It's basically like every other slasher film out there?

I thought the same just because I was expecting more than an ambiguous ending where the Strodes leave him to burn as they drive off.
I was lowkey expecting Michael to kill Laurie or vice versa and Karen to die in the third act tbh.

I was lowkey hoping Michael would at LEAST kill one of them. I just found the ending so basic and meh.

Halloween raked in a staggering, $77.5 million debut, Universal and Blumhouse's movie topped the weekend with the second largest October opening weekend of all-time. The horror film headlined a massive weekend overall weekend, that saw the top twelve combine for over $160 million, making this the second largest October weekend ever.

I thought it was ok, but nothing amazing, I don’t get what all the hype is about? I haven’t seen any of the other films so does that play a part?
But then if it does surely a film should be able to be good on its own merits rather than bc it’s part of a franchise?
Idk, anyway, it was ok, but nothing different to any other slasher film out there
ALSO I hate when films have really illogical/unexplained things in them, like how he just wouldn’t die?

I thought it was very good, I liked the subtext of the film and The role reversal at the end with Laurie essentially pulling off all the horror villain tropes against Micheal.
I kinda think it's a film that's equally smart and dumb though as I thought the characters made too many dumb decisions to facilitate the plot and I think they made him a bit too unstoppable and overly strong at parts.
A man in his 60's who has been inactive for 40 years is not going to throw around people like he does at the petrol station and such. I think they made him too Jason-esque at parts when he should have been threatening because of how smart of a character he is when it comes to stalking his victims. Him being fine after being run over at full speed was also silly.
Also scenes like Alison's dad going out of the safehouse that was Laurie's home to investigate an obviously suspicious car made me roll my eyes. Horror films require it's characters to make mistakes but they don't have to make dumb ones.
I liked the themes of trauma and empowerment though and outside of the spotty horror film logic writing, I thought the writing overall was pretty good as was the direction.
I'd say it's a solid 8/10.
I don't need a sequel though, I thought that was the perfect place to end it.

None of the sequels have any connection to the new movie. Halloween (2018) is a direct sequel to Halloween (1978) there is even a nod towards Halloween ll where Allyson says Laurie being Michaels sister is BS, that plot was added in Halloween ll.
Resurrection is terrible though.

I thought the last 30/40 minutes were really intense and enjoyable, but the rest of the film was quite boring to get through. Jamie Lee Curtis was brilliant, though.
