So undeserved :(
All because of the overhyped Champions League final!!!
Whoever came up with the stupid decision to air the final with the Champions League final made a huge regrettable mistake. What a disgrace!!
I hope it never happens again!!

axe ha
Axe = ITV going bankrupt.
They cannot axe their most profitable show. The ratings dip is all because it clashed with the final of a football tournament. It would have got higher ratings if ITV didn't make it clash!!!
People declined to watch after news of Trip's seventh place?

but is this not just an indication of the effect technology has had on audiences in terms of mobiles, tablets, catch up etc?

Yeah. Ratings for overnight are more redundant these days.

The drop in figures for the live week compared to the auditions has been bizarre
I doubt it's exclusively the reason but they really need to move it back to the half term week

They were probably down yesterday because it was so lovely outside?

I was about to say the same! The weather has kept everyone outside, I didn't watch the final Til just now but I love the show, the ratings shouldn't matter these days it's one of the biggest most talked about shows

Nah. Shows like BGT are only on once a year and are meant to draw in huge figures whatever the TV landscape. I'm pretty sure tablets and mobiles were around last year and that didn't stop over 11 million people sitting down and watching the thing first hand.

Yeah I know, I was just pointing out that you can't use multichannel/catchup excuses for yesterday's rating.
