Hullo
Posted this on Twitter. I know a lot of people don't favour the US format and abandoning the public vote but this was my idea for how they could use the new house to have a really interesting series.

The reason I think this works is that the series has two phases; it has the Rich/Poor divide and the way this would be explored through the two houses. A social commentary of sorts. The smaller house would be suitable for a more cramped, basic environment. I think the currency system would be fascinating too, seeing if housemates lent eachother money, how much poor housemates would work for luxuries, etc, what would happen if housemates didn't contribute to the bills, and so on.
Next I think the merging of the houses in Week 5 would just blow the game up. There would be no outside contact but the two groups coming together would be explosive as initially it would be like two clean alliances - but that would all change very fast when they started mingling!
The final plus side of this is that the two houses are constantly used throughout the series, with the extension first being the Poor House and then as the Jury House.
I did try and find a way to include a public vote but I found there was no way without ruining the sanctity of the format. I think I'd be up for public voting on tasks and perhaps one week voting for the HoH.
Anyway, would enjoy your comments. Thanks for reading...!
