Red Nose Day is back on March 16th 2007!

GIRLS ALOUD, Sugababes and Russell Brand are among the stars appearing on BBC1’s seven-hour Red Nose Day extravaganza on March 16.

The girl bands have teamed up for the Comic Relief single, a cover of the Aerosmith/Run-DMC hit Walk this Way, released on March 12, which they will perform on the big night.

It’s guaranteed to be a chart topper and Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud said: “We hope it will sell millions of copies and make tons of money.

“We hope to feature in some sketches as we will be in the studio all night.” Band mate Sarah Harding added: “It’s an honour to be asked to do the single.”

Russell will co-host the TV event with Davina McCall, Chris Evans, Lenny Henry, Graham Norton, Fearne Cotton and Jonathan Ross.

Highlights will include the last ever Vicar Of Dibley with a guest appearance by Sting while Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders will hold rival car boot sales in London for the programme Comic Relief Does Car Booty.

There will also be a special edition of The Apprentice with Sir Alan Sugar pitting a women’s team of Trinny Woodall, Jo Brand, Cheryl Cole, Maureen Lipman and Karren Brady against a men’s team of Ross Kemp, Danny Baker, Piers Morgan, Rupert Everett and Alastair Campbell.

Celebrity Fame Academy will return hosted by Patrick Kielty and Claudia Winkleman, there’s a special edition of Casualty, the Little Britain stage show special and the documentary It’s A Mad World about people living with mental health problems helped by the charity.

On Radio 1 Chris Moyles will take his karaoke team on the road again for Rallyaoke.

Workers and pupils will be encouraged to hold fund-raising events as the charity bids to raise millions for those in need in Africa and the UK. It’s the 11th Red Nose Day and over £425m has been raised since 1985.

About 8m red noses will go on sale at Sainsbury’s and Oxfam shops and Red Nose Day DVD fund-raising kits are available on 09065 22 66 66. There’s more info about events on www.rednoseday.com
