A lot of those under scrutiny now, being titled such as Sir, etc; makes you wonder how easily such titles are bandied about and given now and without looking into the lives more closely of those they give them to, so as to start becoming meaningless.

Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have been alerted to the revelation that the MP Sir Clement Freud, who befriended the McCann family, was a paedophile who sexually abused young girls for decades.

Freud, who died in 2009, had a holiday home in the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal where Madeleine disappeared in 2007.

He met Gerry and Kate McCann in the weeks after the incident, staying in touch by phone and email and, according to The Telegraph, hosting them at his home on at least two occasions.

It is expected police will now assess the information about his past to determine whether it is relevant to the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance.

It is really sickening and really too I find it stretching things a little that no one else seems to pick up on what these people are like too.

Depends how the connection is being made really. If its 'oh he might have snatched her as hes a paedo' then no, its more bollocks. If its looking into the mate David Payne also 'apparently' (according to a statement or two) being a paedo also...then yes. Will still come to nowt though.

I am not so sure.

If there is something to this, then I think this could now open a can of worms. If this starts a ball rolling into any links found at all, I'm not sure anything could stop it. It will be very interesting to see where this might lead.
