Jade is all washed up

02/02/07

BIG Brother bigmouth Jade Goody’s agent finally broke his silence last night and admitted: “I fear it’s all over for her.”

Top showbiz manager John Noel reckons he has just four weeks to save Jade’s multi-million-pound career from the scrapheap.

He revealed that he had no work lined up for the Celebrity Big Brother bully and said Jade had a “big hill to climb” if she was to turn it around.

Noel, 55, also manages Big Brother presenters Davina McCall, 39, Russell Brand, 31, and Dermot O’Leary, 33, plus telly babe Tess Daly, 35.

But he admitted last night that he was facing the toughest challenge of his 30-year career in saving Jade, 25.

He said: “Ask me in a month’s time if we can turn the situation around. Jade has got a very big hill to climb.

“Initially, it’s fair to say that everyone has dropped her. We don’t have anything in Jade’s order book.”

He accepted that the British public was not yet ready to forgive and forget her bullying of Shilpa Shetty, 31, or her role in sparking the race storm over the Channel 4 reality show.

A major part of his strategy is to get Jade to fly to India as soon as possible to apologise to its billion inhabitants for her behaviour.

And in an interview with Broadcast magazine he confirmed that stressed-out Jade was still planning the trip – even though she is currently being treated for depression in The Priory clinic, Roehampton, south-west London.

But he also let slip that the India trip was planned as a PR exercise, which would see her flying back home as quickly as possible.

He said: “The next phase is to talk to the Indian people. The idea is to see a government official, do a press call and come back. And that will happen as soon as we get the visa through.”

However, as the Daily Star exclusively revealed yesterday, Indian government officials have blocked Jade’s visa, fearing the trip will worsen her depression.

Mum-of-two Jade has earned £8m since appearing on Big Brother in 2002. But now Noel is so worried about her future, he’s given his first face-to-face interview since becoming an agent in 1977. He told Broadcast mag of the Big Brother row: “We had to think quickly, because the whole thing erupted.

“The main job has been to get Jade in a situation where she can go down the road with her kids and not receive abuse. We’ve not managed that yet.”

Noel insisted that Jade was no racist, saying: “None of us look good when we lose our temper. That was the problem – anger. It looked foul, but I don’t think it was in the least bit racist.”

He also defended his client Davina over claims that she’d given Jade an easy time in her post-eviction chat.

“I don’t think she did,” he said. “I don’t think you’d expect Davina to take Jade apart. I mean, why should she?

“But do people think I got on the phone to Davina? This may surprise people, but I never ask how the voting’s going. I never look for privileged information. I never use my relationship with the people at Big Brother, Endemol or Channel 4. I don’t need to. I know what I’m doing.”

Noel also dismissed claims he had been able to “coach” Jade before she faced the cameras after her eviction.

The John Noel article smacks of desperation. It's interesting to see that he not above going for the sympathy vote himself. She'll probably be back but maybe in a year or two.
