Use the number of participants on this ie: 20 and the do the the draw among the countries that were top 20 in the medal table in the last summer olympics.

Wait how many participants you get first.
And maybe not include Russia, since they´re banned from the olympics.

Wait until there is only few days (1-3) before the olympics start and then do the draw.
Also the host country Brazil should be in the draw.

Half of the participants to be drawn to US and the other half to China then?
Yeah that could be a possibility.
Calderyon
19-07-2016, 01:06 AM
They winner wouldn´t necessarily need to be the the one who wins the medal table. It could be the one who is at the top of the points table (athletes that place 1st to 8th get points and they get added to a nations rankings points table).
Or there could be more than one winner.
Will.
04-08-2016, 09:03 AM
BUMP
Will.
04-08-2016, 09:10 AM
What if we had teams,
So the first team is US, UK and China, and one person get's a country. (it would be the smallest team)
And then then:
4-7
8-11
12-15
16-19
20-22
So there would be a winner from each team, I'd take the top 20 ish countries from the London 2012 medal table.
It would make it more fair.
Will.
04-08-2016, 09:17 AM
Taken from the London 2012 medal table:
So team 2 would be:
Russia
South Korea
Germany
France
Team 3 would be:
Italy
Hungary
Australia
Japan
Team 4 would be:
Kazakhstan
Netherlands
Ukraine
New Zealand
Team 5 would be:
Cuba
Iran
Jamaica
Czech Republic
Team 6 would be:
North Korea
Spain
Brazil
South Africa
Each person gets a country from a team, and the country in the team with the most medals wins in that team.
So there would be 6 winners.
Will.
04-08-2016, 09:25 AM
So to make it clear:
There are 6 teams which contain the top 23 countries from the London 2012 medal table with team 1 containing the top 3 countries from 2012, there will be around 4 countries in each team part from team 1.
Each player is awarded a country.
The country with the most medals at the end Rio 2016 in each team will be crowned the winner in that particular team.
There will be a total of 6 winners.
If no one else joins then we will have 4 teams.
Drew.

I think USA will win my group ^_^
Will.
14-08-2016, 05:45 PM
I was thinking to make this more fair and interesting, perhaps could have USA on it's own and the only way for them to win is if they get more medals than they did in London 2012.
And team 1 will be China and GB and there quite close in terms of medal.
Thoughts?
Calderyon
14-08-2016, 08:29 PM
I think personally it´s too late to change since we are already so close (or passed?) the half way mark. But that´s just my opinion.
And technically China should be in their own group since their potential pool of athletes is much larger than USA due to their overall population.
Will.

There are six leaderboards. At the start of this, top 21 of last olympics medal table were divided to a group. This was done, because the US and China etc. as olympics powerhouses have significantly better chance to top the medal table. Now there are six winner instead of one.
Every team is a "group" where you have countries and participants (members).
Golds are displayed firs, then silver medals, then bronze medals and lastly total medals that a nation has earned in the games. Golds are most valuable, then silvers, then bronzes.
