I am sure this may have been done before but if not
I think that is a mod/admin delete a post from a Forum member there should be a sticky thread where the reason for this deletion is stated.
When a thread gets closed the reason is posted for everyone to see.
I think it very rude to remove a post and not say why

It's usually pretty self explanatory why a post is deleted though? If you have a post that was deleted that wasn't insulting or part of an argument that was deleted and you're confused as to why it was deleted you can just PM a mod and ask?

I think that often it is not clear and often you dont notice till ages after - and by being transparent people can learn and therefore the mods job becomes easier

Is there a post in particular that's bothering you right now LT?

Tbf, as annoying as it can be, I imagine they'd spend 24/7 updating this sticky thread if they were to explain every time they deleted a post. :joker:

well yeah exactly. I have no problem explaining or finding out why a post was deleted for anyone that's confused about it though but tbf most times it is pretty obvious why

I don't think it's needed as, like Niamh said, it's often self explanatory and you can always PM a mod for details.
We delete stuff to stop arguments and drama, I think a thread detailing why posts are deleted goes against the whole 'Don't discuss infractions or bring up deleted drama' rule we have.
I only tend to delete whole posts if they are only about an argument or contain a rule break and nothing more. More often then not I'll try to edit out the offending part and leave the rest as is.

I just take on board if a post has been deleted than it has either been reported or seen as offensive.
I don't think I have yet come across in my 6 years on here a post being removed for any other reason.
I also find reasonable the need then of when removing any post deemed unsuitable on any thread that any posts from others, relating to said post which at times may even include my own, will have the need to be deleted from that thread too.

As to the OP
I think if your post was deleted, and no explanation is given, you probably should consider yourself lucky this round for not incurring an infraction for it...
The deleted post itself is a warning or indicator you are stepping out of line...and the Mod who deleted it rather than giving an infraction...probably likes you enough to go easy on you.
