... isn't my fav person, however, there wasnt any comback of the bullying she recieved in last years CBB.

In fact, Pete burns (who I like) was really nasty to several of the girls. Remember him talking to Chantelle about if she needed help to cross the road? He picked on Traci for ages one day, just because she has a lovely positive attitude.

He was particulry nasty to jodie, they certainly rubbed each other up the wrong way, neither came out nice from it, but he was definately very nasty to her.

Why wasnt there any come back about any of that bullying??? Or are we only concerned about bullying if the word 'racism' is involved.

The whole point of BB is to chuck a load of differnet peolpe togather in a confinded inviroment, give them nothing (or silly) things to do, sit back and wathc how they react - ususlly with fireworks (Emma & Michelles return to the house caused a bit of a stir if I remember rightly).

What do you think? SHould BB have stepped in the help jodie?

SIMPLE. Shilpa represents a wider cross section of society who obviously cared enough to vociferously protest. The people who felt represented by Chantelle, Traci and Jodi obviously couldn't be bothered to make a deal out of it publicly for whatever reasons. This tells us that there is a community of people out there who are connected by bonds that are stronger than those of ethnicity who are willing to take tangible steps in the direction of curbing an obvious wrongdoing when it matters to them.

what a load of rubbish that was
I agree, when the word 'racism' is involved a massive issue is caused.

I actually think it was a variety of reasons.

- First Pete was near enough a sole perpertrator where jo, jade and danielle done it as a pack
- Pete never pretended to be an angel where Jade, Jo and Danielle really tried to come across sweet and reasonable.
- Traci and Jodie seemed to be handling it where Shilpa appeared to be distressed by it.

I dont really know to be honest...... but thats what i fink

Good answer, but allow me to add....

Pete Burns chose to confront people in CBB3 on matters that he felt strongly about and sometimes he came across as a bit over the top in his conduct, but he always did it on his own, speaking for himself, and with well verbalised reasoning.

Im not condoning Petes behaviour towards Traci and to an extent Chantelle, but I saw it as one on one interaction between people with different attitudes. If any sort of mildly hostile conversation is classed as 'bullying' then we may as well discuss every single programme on television.

I think CBB5 well and truly crossed that line where people HAD to speak out against it.

Correcting the latter part of your empty rant, I believe you mean 'a massive stir is caused' and 'when the 'issue' of racism is 'broached'. Just a small correction. Hope you don't mind.

Actually I do mind. If you want to correct my posts then have the sense to improve on it. You appear to have completely misunderstood my point and haplessly stumbled into your obsession with 'racism' again.

The fact that race played a part in this years Big Brother does not guaruntee there would have been no issue made about the incidents in the house. The decision to use an Indian in the role of the 'elegant middle-class female' was an extra ratings winner for producers, but if the role of the 'elegant middle-class female' had been played by a white English woman, as sure as night follows day, the 3 girls would have still bullied her and there would still have been a national uproar, albeit a smaller one than the 'world wide' one we ended up with.

This is the part you cant seem to grasp.

Oh yes, you are quite right - look at the way Nikki & Grace treated Susie is alst years BB. Making snide comments & nicking her champagne.

Would the issue have been different if Susie had been a different colour?

As petty and childish as Grace and Nikki were, last years show NEARLY DID cause uproar. I remember very clearly. Grace was booed mercilessly for her conduct. And that was extremely light hearted compared to what happened this year.

(Im not saying the reaction would have been as huge, but there would have still been a reaction.)

I can`t believe what I`m hearing about Pete. He said he ranted at
Traci `for the hell of it` He was a bully, a total sh*t. The fact that he
has inteligence just made it twice as nasty. He did atleast feel the wrath of the crowd ,and is loathed by many. He too had a bad time
afterwards and frankly deserved it. He is also older than the terrible trio and should have known better. Lets not get sucked in by the fact that he has quite a bit of talent,he`s a first class twit.

No one is saying Pete was in the right, or that he wasnt a bully. Its just a milder case of bullying when its one on one rather than four on one. You have to put these different situations in context.

The significant thing that came out of this CBB5 was the way Jade, Danielle and Jo bullied in ignorance. Completely secure in the assumption that their actions were OK and justifiable, and that nothing they were saying or doing was wrong.

Pete's admission that he was in the wrong leaves no case for debate.

I missed his admission that he was in wrong, and I assume that means he must have also made an apology??
When he ranted there were others present who said nothing, and although they may not have been joining in I still think the effect is almost as negative.Pete has a way with words, where he could make a so called reasoned argument about anything.
If you yourself had to argue the case that there was no racism in the house this year you too could put a very reasoned case even tho you didn`t believe it. You ofcourse wouldn`t do that because you have no motivation to do so ,whereas Pete is less believable because we know he seeks confrontation for the hell of it.For me his bullying was worse
because he should know better ,but I have to accept that he wasn`t racist, unless ofcourse thats why he picked on Traci ??

The morals of a person is a whole new issue, though I can see why you would disagree with Pete Burns'. Many people would.

There are quite a few reasons this years bullying and racism was made a bigger deal(not that it wasn't just) then previous years.

Shilpa is a massive star among the Asian community.

The "ganging up" was more obvious this year.

Jade, Jo and Danielle are all common - easier to target them as bully's and racists (I am not saying they are victims at all, but look at Grace she is just as vile as all three of those girls , although there was a big uproar "get grace out" ect. it was made into panto and she was just the "BB Bitch")

No one said much about the Jodie Marsh incident because she is "loose" and talks about sex, so the public thought she "brought it on herself"

Shabhaz was VERY different... so people didn't say anything.

I seem to remember Michael Barrymore and George Galloway also having a go on quite a few occasions as well as Pete.

The Jodi Marsh thing is different. As ttw states she is 'loose'. There's nothing wrong with that, but i remember the housemate being quite upset by her topics of conversation. At one point I remember her demonstrating how to shoot a porn film at the breakfast table. She upset them and in my book if you talk the talk you've got to walk the walk. I'm not saying she deserved it, but they were having discussions amongst thmeselves about her behaviour it was inevitable that they were going to confront her.

Shabaz was bullied last years and I'm surprised BB didn't step in. The fact that he was also a fruit loop made it very uncomfortable viewing.

I agree in that they picked on some one who was a big star and that further inflamed the disputes. I will always maintain that if the 3 had heard of Shipla, and knew how big a star she was, they would have behaved differently around her. The celebrity pecking order would have come into play.

please refer to the above. This was one of the milder arguments and Pete was not on his own.
