I didn't think this referendum could produce a more embarrassing phrase than 'Brexit', but it did
It's cringey and insulting and it needs to stop

Most countries have an independence day so it's hardly an American thing anymore. We were just the first to try it and we did with style. :hee:

No because it's gonna be seen as a mistake instead of an heroic moment.
****ing over the poor because of less important reasons will never be seen as an Independence Day moment.

Surely January 1 would be our "day" considering it's when (a bit of) Ireland joined the Union...

No and its daft in my opinion,to call it independence day,I never thought of the UK as anything else other than an independent Nation.

Pretty much. Give it a few years and we'll be like a needy ex begging EU to take us back.

What the feck has this got to do with the American independence day.

And they will say f- off. They are going to make one huge example of our Britain for what its done. It's payback time now.

Tell that to Boris Johnson, and Nigel Farage, and Rupert Murdoch, and everyone else who loves calling this "our Independence Day"
The only way it could be worse is if Will Smith were in it
